Subject: What Size Magnets to Use for Dreadnought

I'm not sure if this is the right place to place this, I don't know where else this would fit in. I just ordered my Venerable Dreadnought today, but I don't know what size magnets would be recommended for the arms to magnetize them. I live in Japan so I'll need whatever measurements they use (I'm pretty sure it's the metric system). Then I need to ask everyone where a hobby shop would be.
Thanks for the help.
Also, this is my first Dreadnought I've bought or painted so I'm pretty excited.

I'm not sure about the venerable kit specifically, but both my regular dread and ironclad didn't need magnets for the arms. The peg/hole is tight enough to hold the arms on without assistance. The Ironclad is actually a little too tight, I need to hit it with a file to loosen it up a bit one of these days.
Things like the stormbolter/heavy flamers and other bits and bobs would still need magnets if you want to swap them around.

Thank you for the reply, I guess I won't worry about magnets until I have all my things painted up. I'm moving to Great Falls, Mt in October so it will be easy to find magnets there.

I just ordered some 8mm magnets from a store on ebay, they'd be great for Contemptor arms imo. I've not actually got any standard pattern dreads so can't help there, but if you go for a contemptor I'd recommend 8mm's. I'll be on with my contemptor soon - keep an eye out.
The store was called spider_magnets, I just picked up 100 4mmx 0.5mm magnets for less than £5 with free delivery, can't say much fairer than that imo!

Thanks! I'll check out the store.

Since you are in Japan, I got a ton of magnets from this seller on Ebay, wowgame2009 and their store is called WishDreamComeTrue. They are out of China, but I didn't have any problems with them shipping to the US, and I got over 500 magnets, two different sizes for a couple of bucks. Might be worth checking out, they have a ton of different sizes as well.
Also check out this link, http://www.miniwargaming.com/magnet-guide#Space%20Marines, its a list of magnet sizes to possibly use on all different models and races in 40k.
