As the title says anyone got a reference for where i can get up-to-date rules for the Phoenix and Nightwing?

They're not in IA11 only the descriptions and I think the Nightwing rules in IA2 are out of date and even they don't have a full rules breakdown either!

Help please

They are in IA 11 at minimum in the corsair army list section (specifiing Nightwing is FA choice and bomber is HS). I will get page numbers when I get home, unless some one beats me to it.

Got it, it is IA11, for some reason the pictures of the Phoenix and Nightwing are in a different section to the rules! But yeah they were in the Corsair section.

Thanks!

I don't mean to derail this thread, but do you all think that Phoenix Missile Launchers are now only allowed to fire twice vs 6 times as per the 6E rules say missiles can only shoot twice per turn? I am confused if its a nerf for the phoenix per the new flyer rules.

I don't know I haven't read through 6th yet, I only learned stuff on these forums so far. My guess is it could be true though as the fliers were originally designed for apoc I think and not normal games. On the other hand though the codex and I assume data sheets are supposed to be point of reference first before the Big book.

hmm, "Missile" vs "Missile Launcher". The Missile examples given are one use only. I am inclined to say that a Launcher weapon is differe from the Missile it is referring to, especially given a profile of Heavy 3.

Missile refers to One Shot weapons that are Missiles. Missile Launchers are not missiles.

That's correct.

However, Phoenixes are still godawful because of their cost and (non)durability.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Great, thanks for the clarification.

I just got a Phoenix, haven't used it yet. I know they are quite pricey, 225, I think. But you don't think being able to fire 4 weapons per turn, and gaining Shrouded + Evade makes them usable?

I guess I just have flyer envy.

Doesn't a Phoenix only have 3 weapons anyway? (maybe it's got some lame shuriken weaponry I'm misremembering).

And as soon as it Evades, it can only Snap Shot as well. So you're got your 225 point paper airplane that can't cause any damage and will be killed as soon as it fails that 3+ cover save.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.
