SM: 1500 pts
Calgar (with armor)-275 pts
10 Tactical squad (ML, flamer, power weapon)- 185 pts
10 Tactical squad (melta, plasma cannon, combi-flamer, chain sword) - 200 pts
5 Scouts (5 cloaks, 4snipers, heavy bolter)- 100 pts
2 pimped out Rhinos - 150 pts
5 Termies (assault cannon)- 230 pts
10 Devastator (2 lascannons, plasma cannon, heavy bolter)- 280 pts
Whirlwind (armor, storm, missile)- 120 pts
Tech& servitor- 60 pts

I originally had an assault squad with melta bomb, flamer , combat shield and a stern guard that would have taken the place of the tech marine and his personal aide (servitor) As well as the termies do you guys think this army is worth anything? And all this is based on the 5th edition point allocation so if there are changes in points then let me know

Can't believe no one has reviewed this list?! Here goes

From what I see you are looking to be almost entirely shooty. 6th edition here I'd recommend looking into anti-air or counter-air.

How I would remodel your list without making major changes\/\/\/

- lower your devs to say 7-8, I am a fan of MLs.
-Drop combi-flamer on ur sarg and give him and the other sarg a power axe, should you be assaulted you will have some damage capability.
-Also consider the points you throw in your tac squads should they be forced into an assault, almost all wasted. (minimize points expendature)
-Look into some non-jump pack assault squads or mechanized assault termies.

if you are looking to remodel to be more combat efficient\/\/\/

- drop termies and add some more mech or dreadnaughts
-I am a blood angels player and I personally don't use any mech in my current lists but with C:SM mech is meant to be taken advantage of imo.
-I'm no big fan of mechanized lists but if i were you I'd go full mech if you already have 2 rhinos and a whirlwind you might as well go the rest of the way and drop all non mechanized troops and substitute with DT and HS.

Calgar is expensive, but can put out the hurt. I assume he'll be attached to the terminators? Should work. I prefer the cheeper, basic HQs myself.

Your troop picks are solid, but you overspent on wargear. If you do get an upgrade, a combi weapon that matches the squad is a good investment. If you are going to spend that kind of points on a rhino, get a razorback instead. I'd go with a M/MM c-melta sarge in a basic rhino for one squad, and a PC/F power weapon sarge combat squadded in a razorback (plasma and 4 guys left home) for the second.

Scouts are fine. Talion is a good upgrade if you have the points. In 6th, an Aegis defense line with a gun for AA is also nice.

5 Points for a chainfist is a good call for the terminators. You never know when you need to carve a tank open. Otherwise fine.

Devs are a little sub-par, but not useless. I like 10 man squads, but you need to pick a role and stick with it. You should also stick to the cheeper weapons options. 4xML is a good all around choice. 2xML, 2xPC is more expensive, but will vaporize just about everything on foot.

If you are going to field a whirlwind, field it naked behind a hill. It does not need any upgrades. I would relegate the anti-infantry duties to the dev squad above, and use the 120 points on an auto/las predator.

I'm not sure if the tech is worth it. I'd probably drop him and use the points to by something else.

It's a workable list, but some of your squads lack focus, and you massively overspent on wargear.

Yeh not a fan of calgar, to expensive in my opinion, plus seriously drop the points in your tac squads oh my god man they are way overpriced, you really dont need power swords in there or that many special weapons! haha other than that it looks okay, exept the scouts probs wont need the cloaks, I wouldnt 'pimp' out my rhinos either, id just take them basic and with extra armour. but in saying that its not really a bad list haha good job for your fist man with the spare points if you did as i would do id buy a predator annhilator bro and something anti air for sure.
good luck with your army non the less

Hey thanks for the comments guys!!
I remodeled the list but I'm not sure if they're any better? Oh I'm not really sure what you guys mean by anti air? :x can't all guns hit air targets? And what's an aegis? I'm still stuck with a 5th edition SM codex but I have the 6th edition rule book :x I always liked shooty armies with a healthy number of guys but can't stand it when I start losing troops :x anyway it's nice to have constructive reviews about the list I made hope to polish this up more!

yes all stuff can try to hit a flyer , but its on a +6. aegis is a fortification GW sells that gives you an anti aircraft gun . Rule for it are in the main rulebook .

If your not taking bikers then taking a cpt as your one and only HQ may not be the best way to go . A librarian with divination would help your list a lot more , but if you take the cpt then at least give him a storm shield .

If you want to use assault marines then dont take codex space marine ones . Take a BA librarian and an identical unit of assault marines only with better weapon options[melta guns for example] and a chance to get FC on them .

Drop pods are nice upgrades for units that can kill stuff on landing . What is your tactical squad going to kill with a snap fire launcher , bolters and a flamer ? not much. If you had sternguard or if you were using a GH squad as ally then the pod would have made more sense . Right now it is giving your opponent a free unit to kill.

Captain w/ Artificer Armor, Jump Pack, Melta Bombs, Claws, and Digital Weapons is 185pts.

Seems like a decent 1000pt list.

Aegis lines are in the 6th edition rule book.

Hmm... So she I throw out the, assault marines and the captain? Maybe replace with an extra rhino, a 5 man stern guard and possibly a dread? And get a cheap HQ? Would that be sensible?

Yes. Basically what others have said: Calgar is too expensive, Whirlwind is not that good, extra armour does not seem to do much at all in the new Ed.
