Just thought I'd post my world and army fluff. Hope that its not too dry, as stated in the title, comments are welcome!

World: Sigma Tertius.

Background: The world of Sigma Tertius, a relatively small hive world located in the Gracius Subsector is an active hub of Imperial activity. A number of important trade routes pass near to the system ensuring phenomenal prosperity that has lasted for the better part of seven centuries. Of course amongst the populace of the planet, only those in a position of privilege are able to benefit from much of this prosperity. The world also benefits from its proximity to a significant Schola Progenium facility and to several strategically important systems including the Sigmata Beta system.

Along with a hive world’s usual industries of mining and manufacture, Sigma Tertius is also renowned for a thriving industry of biological augmentation and organ manufacture. Because of this, it is common for the people of the world to have augmented body parts such as limbs and internal organs. Many of these augmentations are featured in the Guardsmen of this world, especially in the elite Stormtrooper companies from the nearby “Schola Ocularius”.

Geography: A world dominated by vast lichen covered tundra punctuated by enormous mountain ranges across it's numerous landmasses. More inland areas often feature dry, steppe like environments which are where the majority of the planet's mining and manufacture takes place. Seven primary Hive cities rise from the world's landmasses and spread for tens of kilometres in all directions where the majority of the world's citizens live and work. A number of space ports are also spread across the planet's surface where most of the planet's industries are exported to the wider sector. Three moons orbit the planet.

Sigma Tertius 54th:
The Sigma Tertius 54th Heavy Infantry Regiment is made up of only the elite, hardened veteran companies from their world’s prestigious military academies. Both their superior training regimes and their extensive experience in fierce urban warfare have honed these grim troopers into one of the most well renowned regiments raised from Sigma Tertius. Due to this fierce reputation, the 54th have seen deployment all across Segmentum Pacificus and beyond, and whilst considered a formidable fighting force, the gruelling rate of attrition has taken its toll on the 54th, reducing the strength of the regiment to just a handful of companies, less than 3000 fighting men and women.

As a heavy Infantry regiment, the 54th have a large number of armoured fist squads and make extensive use of more powerful weaponry, plasma guns being a common sight amongst the guardsmen of the regiment. However, the true elite of the 54th are found within the regiment’s grenadier squads, highly trained sniper teams wearing thick carapace armour beneath their ceremite green greatcoats. To join one of the Grenadier squads is one of the highest aspirations amongst many members of the regiment and to be named a Grenadier is to be acknowledged as one of the best the 54th has to offer.

Throughout its long history, the Sigma Tertius 54th has seen action in many Imperial campaigns, most notably the Sabbat World Crusades, the Cleansing of Dervius III and the Larissan Conquests. As recently as 995.M41, the Sigma Tertius 54th Heavy Infantry have been involved in the brutal campaign against the "Cult of Glorious Evisceration" infesting the towering hive spires of Volsurig Septimus. A campaign that has thus far spanned nearly a decade and where victory for the remaining imperial forces hangs in the balance.

Equipment and Uniform: When being deployed to a theatre, the regiment's of Sigma Tertius commonly wear a Heavy grey/green greatcoat along with standard issue black helmet and re breather kit. Their Lasgun's commonly feature folding wire stock, however much rarer wooden stock's are often carried by those with enough finance to have them. As primarily a veteran regiment, the 54th obtain various "trophies" and "non-standard equipment" whilst in the field.
