Sept 23rd - The Jennifer Square Hobby Center will close it's doors for the last time on Sunday, Sept. 23rd. You are invited to stop in and celebrate the many shared battles and pinnacle moments that have taken place at the store! Fear not - there are other stores close as hand such as the Bowie Bunker and the Lake Shore Hobby Center.

This was posted in the stores facebook page and confirmed with the store manager. Jennifer Square is the store located in Annapolis Md.

It's like a revolving door of GW stores in Maryland.

No tears shed from me, though... the independent stores in the area (Hobbytown USA, Brainstorm Comics, Dream Wizards, Dropzone Games, and Games 'n Stuff) now get all my business.

If I was in the states, I can't think of a single reason to buy at a GW owned store when you have stores like those around. And if you don't, you can go with Miniaure Market or The War Store.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Montreal, even though also located in the frozen wastes, has many options for gaming, rather than the full price GW store. Mercifully.

I pay full price at all the FLGS I listed... but, I'd rather give them the business than the store closest to my home- which happens to be one of the GW stores they've yet to close/relocate/etc in MD.

Huh... No surprise, I guess, since the new bunker pretty much doomed the store. I know they've had sales fall pretty hard lately, and they were putting a lot of pressure on Kurt, even though it was thier own damned fault since they put the bunker so close. Pity, though, since it's a stone's throw away. Guess that's just less "impulse buy" money GW will be getting from me.

I'm hoping Kurt has a good "what's next" plan. He's as good as I've seen at GW these days...

This is not a surprise, GW stores are dropping like flies. Hopefully this will make room for more FLGS.

GW would be fools to lose Kurt. He is a great manager. However, GW is not known to make good decisions.

I would expect Kurt is probably getting transferred.

Wait a minute...my local GW store is losing their manager next week who went to a different job...hm....

You can just never tell what GW is thinking. They have transferred managers in the past. However, they may not view Kurt as an important asset. They for example, did not select him to manage the bunker
