I have been dragging my feet finishing this army and I have come to that point where I need to do something to clearly show the Wolf banner.
What I am wondering is how have people done it other than just using the back pack icons and banner that comes on the space wolf sprue?

I was thinking of taking one of the banners that you get on the space wolf srues and with a bit of work with a file to have a shoulder cloak bolted to the pauldron that drapes over the model's arm.
It is clear from a WYSIWYG standpoint and it might look cool. I hate the back pack poles and think that they are silly looking but since the wolves are a very different type of space marine I think this might fit in with their look better than the standard fare.

Any advice or examples that spring to mind would be great.
Thanks.

I'd set the banner on its own scenic base and keep it on the board with the unit. That way when you pop the banner you can just pull that base. This keps everyone clear about who still has banners and who has already used theirs.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

i cut off the head of the thunder hammer, then put the back banner in its place.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Here is what I have made, I will be having a model with a banner pole as per a chapter banner but there will only be one of those in the army.

Each of these are on a shoulder pad that will be on a GH.
