Here's why: Take advantage of being Mastery Level 2 for Hallucination or Invisibility.

Making your opponent WS1 in combat with you, getting +3 to a cover save, or locking down an opponents unit (or making them hit themselves) is better than Warptime. We are lacking crowd-control methods and Telepathy provides us with those abilities.

Can you even put a Chaos Lord with Mark Of Slaanesh with a squad of Khorne Berzerkers. I'd say no way and I'm a Chaos Space Marine player. Other than that not too bad. Maybe drop the great unclean one for something else, since it get's no Nurgly rules or stats with CSM codex, but not sure what really. If you want random fun I love how characterful a dreadnaught is.

Instead of 1 berzerker squad, how about a squad of Emporer's Children? Don't outfit them as noise marines rather as a CC specialist unit.

This will fit the chaos lord better and provide him with a bunch of I 5 troops that are fearless.

To be honest i dont care about chaos fluff, i love chaos i love every aspect of the gods, but when it comes to the table top i just paint my models how i like them, i have 2 khorne rhinos with 2 khorne squads, a death guard prince, vindicator, rhino, marines, Tzeentch greater daemon, and 8 night lord terminators, the chaos lord is also Krell the lord of undeath warhammer fantasy model, but he looks so damn cool, and his icons are to perfect for night lords, so its more of a veteran night lord leading some berzerkers. i just give him whatever skills i need for my following match.

I play different lists all day long, if i paint all my stuff to a specific patron that doesn't mean i cant try different war-gear. And i dont know anyone who has 4 different sets of models for every aspect lol. IMO paint what you like, play what you like, random is fun on the tabletop, and random can be competitive.

But just to be clear i would never be like oh i'm going to proxy these berzerkers to thousand sons, ill be like that night lord chaos lord, who has NL icons and a two handed weapon is a daemon weapon... BTW Slaanesh has influenced him... thats appropriate imo.

I just gave him the mark of Slaanesh to get him to I6, my buddy is running a dam captain, I5 and i really want to kill him asap, sick of him hanging around, i wanted my berzerkers to rip thru the squad and move on.
