Just putting up my army list idea here. I have a few bits and pieces so far but nothing is really set in stone except this will be a purely slaanesh army!
I have some points left over and I've deliberately tried to avoid featuring a lord in this 2000pts list, wanting to save it for my upgrade to 2500pts if at all possible but I really need some advice/reassurence and criticisms's here its my first Slaanesh list and I've put in perty much what I feel would have a decent impact in the game but I can't help but feel due to the low amount of 'gear' I've handed out as well as my apparent lack of casters? I dunno but the highest caster I've seen in this army has been level 1 for Slaanesh this seems to be a bit of an issue I'm not sure if its worth me hijacking a tzeentch herald just remodelling it different and making fluff or something for piece of mind to allow me to have an actual caster in my army. But then I've never played nor used Daemon's of chaos before so I'm purely guessing it feels like.

Yeah I know the Soulgrinder isn't "Slaanesh" But in regards to that I plan on using the big goblin spider as a base to build my soulgrinder on to look slaanesh.

Your 'nette blocks are in no way big enough to be survivable.

If I up them to 30 something has to leave else I won't have enough core choices for the army. I was origionally going for 30 which was a suggested size its just that getting in 60 is hard somewhere for the additional 20 I need to find a way to squeeze in another 240points from something else.

I may remove the soulgrinder but even then im not sure as its a powerful presence on the board.

Personally I don't think the soul grinder is worth it. But then again, I run a keeper of secrets...

I don't know that they can be completely discounted simply by virtue of being "too small". They just don't fill the "fight anything they come up against" role.

Way I see it, you've got a couple issues- magic defense might give you some problems, but there's may be some mileage in ignoring that side of things altogether.

I think you can clear off chaff like nobody's business, but you need a plan to deal with big critters and big fighty-hordes. Working a siren song into the list might give you a handy tool to deal with the latter, and you might just get by with tons of low strength attacks on the former.

Is there a way to get the flame cannon thing on the soulgrinder? I think that would help thin some of the big hordes...

With the points I have left there it can be worked in, if not I can always remove one of the seekers down to a unit of 8 they would probably form up better like that as well.

For magic the only way I can see myself getting around it is to include a Tzeentch herald modelled differently with the master of sorcery gift. Which is also doable just slightly off theme.

Plan for bigger critters really was the Soulgrinder if possible, using the daemonbone claw to providing I can grab said big critter, hit it at a strength 10 and then multiply the unsaved wound by D6. Alternatively it comes with a grape shot.

Worst case scenario as most big things lack armour my slaanesh mounts all come with poison even the ones on chariots. Not Ideal but im desperately trying not to involve non-slaanesh units.

Don't get me wrong- I 100% support themed lists. If you can make this work, it'll be awesome. I just notice your awash in high speed, low strength attacks. You'll have to get your wins unconventionally, and it will be made slightly harder being daemons- since you can't flee...

I will be relying / hoping for shadow to allow me to drop my opponents toughness to kill the larger things with this set up but im still not sure. Dropping those 20 daemonettes gave me something like this

With this option I've gotten the soulgrinder with the claw, I have enough points left to upgrade it again if I like, but the idea of this is to take out those high wound/toughness monsters with lacking initiative and to give me something more of a 'hard hitter' less reliant on the use of the lore of shadow to weaken my enemies to kill them. If I could have more into my rares I would add in some fiends but I'm all about capped on that same goes for special, dividing amongst the troops would be un-even so I would be more inclined to take some random gribblys furies etc. Perhaps giving the tzeentch caster a disk?

I am curious, do special units get affected from the duplication limit that rares do or say, could I lower the number of seekers to add another chariot?

I've tried to avoid putting in a keeper of secrets, thats my plan for expanding to 2500pts.

As to you question about number of specials or rares, that's dictated by your army size- unless you have a grand army (of 3000 points or more), you may have up to 3 duplicates of any specials, and 2 duplicates of any rares.

Things to consider- flying horror on the tzeentch herald to keep him out of trouble, or to fly into spots where some damage can be done.

I'm not a big fan of Many Armed Monstrosity on the two heralds. You're still at pretty low strength. Of course this can get buffed by shadow magic, but if that happens, you have so many attacks from the unit, you're winning the combat anyway.

If you're intentionally shying away from the "obviously good" choices, then cool, and good luck. If not, then consider siren song- just too good for too cheap to pass up.

Siren song is something I had written up into my 2500pt list to go alongside my greater daemon who will cap my 2500pt list xD with 105pts still left I could include that though, I may shuffle around for another chariot in place of 5 seekers, open up some more points and purely have the seekers to pop cannons and etc.

As well as try and fit in another herald with the siren. I can only take one of those afaik?
