Hey guys,

I bought a second pack of Line Kazaks and I need ideas for conversion. While the 2 men are quite generic and will fit together with a slightly different skin color, the woman has quite a unique pose and so I'm asking you guys how I can make her different =)

Hmm, give her a Missile launcher over the left shoulder (if thats at all possible), move the right arm (sans rifle) to support the bottom/side of the launcher...?

Good idea, but I already own a missile launcher model =P
And I'm also very very inexperienced toward metal conversion.
So an easy conversion that would allow me to keep the rifle is what I'm looking for

What parts can be detached to the model? Usually an arm swap would work, then fill the gaps with GS and you're golden.

Well....well...damn it! No worries, was just a thought as i looked at the model's pose...

How is your GS-fu? Are you confident enough to lop bits off to re-pose and then GS the breaks? Because as its in one piece (lie you say) theres going to need to be some sort of cutting nvolved to really differentiate her from the other one...

Worst case scenario : I destroy the model and only have 5 Rifle Line Kazaks anymore =P I don't think I'll need more than that and I can anyway proxy a missile launcher, a grenade launcher or a HMG kazak to a simple rifle.

I'll give it a try ! Success is not guaranteed =P I might just remove the coat and reposition her arm (I'm laughing just by thinking how this will go haha)

Lay her down and use her as a wounded/unconcious marker?

Her torso and arms are flat enough, you'd just need to tweek the legs/feet a bit. Maybe bend a knee.

I won't use her as a marker but bending her legs is a great idea =P

OK, so no confidence in the GS-fu then....as you say, the worst that can happen is you destroy a perfectly good mini...o, wait....i kid. Depends how attached to the model you are, ive cut up (and ruined as well) a couple models in my time, and it sucks when it goes wrong, but its not the end of the world...

Bending the knee....hmmm. Cut the back out of the leg so she is leaning backwards (Matrix style if you go too far lol), or even take the knee-pad off completely, bend the leg, replace kneepads and have her kneeling?

I won't get any experience if I'm not willing to destroy a mini =P

Ok...first...while I'm really happy with the result, it did not went well at all =P

I tried bending the first leg and it just twisted... in quite a way I don't think a leg can handle =P
Then when I tried the second one, it snapped off heh...
So I was free to twist even more the first leg as it was probably going to the trash can anyway.
I think I twisted it back to a more natural way (I might be trying too hard to convince me I made a good job)
Then I glued back the leg and now I convinced myself it looks like she is running !

What do you guys think ? Is it only my imagination heh

TBH, that's an awkward pose to be running in.

Maybe let her have a bag slung across her back that she is holding with her arm?

The legs look very running to my, howerver if I were to run on a battlefield I'm pretty sure I would'nt be doing so with one hand on my neck and the other flailing a weapon

Here is the simplest and most manly idea you could do for the model...

she's off balance. Also you could possible twist/reposition the gun so it is facing down or something.

If you want a missile launcher variant of her, first cut the rifle out of her hand/arm. Replace it with a pistol. Then under the left arm put the missile launcher standing up that way she's got her arm propped up on it.

Or instead of a pistol, put a cigeratte in her right hand like she's just kicking back and enjoying a moment after destroying something.

The biggest problem I've had with this mini is she is only one piece and everything is stuck together, with no place to work. I can't reposition any arms with heavy remodelling
But yeah, I might try to reposition the gun to face down.

Anyway, she's my Line Kazak with rifle #6 so she won't often see play =P

I melted mine down for re-use as an ingot (CB figures are not immune to this. I do it to most of the minis I have that I can't use (normally after I've removed weapons, heads and anything else salvageable.)

It was a model that would take too much work to modify into something less of a "fashion model lost on the battlefield" figure.

The biggest problem with that female mini is the upward-posed left arm. If you file that down and cover the scar with GS, you've gone a long way toward reposing the figure.

Some GS work is not that hard. Specifically, adding fabric (coat, bag, etc.) to cover things you've hacked up is a pretty simple cover-up tactic. If you modeled her as having her coat draped over her left shoulder (covering some of her chest and some of her back), you would have a nice conversion that looks decent.

Then you could cut the other arm (holding the gun) at the elbow and swing it inwards a bit, as if she's holding the gun across her chest. extend the GS-ed over coat to cover where her left hand would be gripping the rifle's stock to support, and you don't have to model a new hand or anything.

The end result would be a pose with rifle across her chest, and a coat slung over her shoulder, covering her left hand and a bit of the rifle's stock.

The other option is to trade it to someone else who like to convert things

Honestly, that Line Kazak is something which would have been perfect for an idea I've been suggesting for Infinity since the get-go.

A "Femme Fatales" subsection, with nothing but pin-up styled models.

As it stands, she's good for dioramas and that's about it. She cannot be easily worked into a pose where she--as Chromedog noted--does not look like a fashion model on the battlefield.
