Hi,
I was wondering if some one or someones here in the dakka community could either post here or point me in the right direction of some more obscure information about my friends in yellow. I have done the normal work such as wikis, Lexicanum, and random posts here but I would really like to get to the stuff that is not so easy to find.
Thanks

There's a few sources out there, the novel Sons of Dorn follows some scouts so has a fair amount on the workings of the chapter, so is probably your best bet. The FFG book Rites of Battle has a section on them as well.
I've not read it yet but the Soul Drinkers book Phalanx may be a good bet as it is set on the Imperial Fists star fort.
If you can find it there was an Index Astartes article in an old White Dwarf that has a lot in, though Lexicanum probably shows most it already.

What sort of stuff are you looking for.
The veteran markings, designation of sergeants? Notable character?

Architect of Fate has a Captain Lysander story, a solid read if ur looking for a story in which the fists dont get completely wiped out.

Really I am looking for things that you wont find on lexi, any books to read with good Imperial Fist fluff would be great (Thousand Nuns/bob) I have always felt that the Imperial Fists were one of the less obvious chapters/legions. They don't beat you over the head with their drinking fighting hairy ways (I love the wolves btw) and they don't have some gimmick that turns them into a wolf, rage monster, or bird thing? They really seem to be content to do their duty and be on their way, and so I am really looking for more info as to their character, what drives them.
Also some info about who drives them would be cool as well, the only person in the legion who really gets any attention is Captain Lysander and as cool as he is, I think there are probably a few more great men in the VII legion.

Well if I recall correctly
Chapter master vladimir pugh
High Chaplain Lo Chang
Chief Librarian Franz Grenstein (Not sure on this one)
Veterans are denoted by a red stripe down the helmet, sergeants by a red skull on the helm fore head.
They are frequent users of a device called the 'Pain Glove' which essentially causes nerves to produce a pain response all over the body, it is through this that they purify themselves as a form of meditation and punishment.
Also they hold a few old habits from anicent terra with emphasis placed on the sword rather than the power fist or hammer as you might expect. A heritage from the days of ancient Terra dueling/swordplay.
Helpful?

May I ask where you found that? I was painting my guys and realized I was confused on some aspects of their coloring.
I know they follow the codex, does that mean the 4th Company would have a green trim etc...
The only IF I have ever seen are with Red or black trims and their company number is never mentioned

Index astarted imperial Fists.
Also a forum called 'The phalanx' for all things imperial fists. It may be pretty dead but all this should be covered pretty comprehensively.
http://z11.invisionfree.com/THE_PHALANX/index.php
The shoulder trim is codex colours so yes green is prefectly acceptable trim.
Just keep in mind a veteran Sergeant from4th company would have:-
A red helmet stripe
A red skull
Green Shoulder trim

Try and get hold of the original 'Space Marine' novel, the original and best, all about three lads who become Imperial Fists.
