Hey all

i got my eye on the following bases for my necrons to giv e them a nice sandy theme.

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?it...nid=70444282579

since they come unpainted i am not sure what colurs would be best to use to gain a nice desert colour like this. Please could you all advise what layers etc i should use. Please note that i have mainly the old GW paints (the ones before the current wave of paints)

a rough guide of steps would be much appreciated

thanks heaps all

Desert sand is pretty easy, start with a base of bubonic brown, then drybrush bleached bone. Then voila, done.

Your link seems broken, but:

Khemri brown, drybrush 50-50 khemri / bleached bone,
few washes here and there with sepia and devlan mud - just patches, not the whole base, drybrush bleached bone, drybrush 50-50 bone/white.

Should be pretty deserty.

Experiment on a few bases with the above methods...or try some of your own...see what works for you.

Then try one with your model on it...does it look ok with your color scheme? Lastly, you might need a different color on the edge of the base, if you need to compliment or bridge the colors between the model and the base.

best of luck!!!
