I'll be playing in an escalation league this week starting out with 500 pts. I have two list ideas criticism and feedback on them would be nice. I'll be playing a vanilla marine player my first game.



The first weeks game will be giving additional victory points for killing your opponents hq, kiling your opponents HQ with your HQ, killing all of their elite choices, and destroying your opponents highest costing unit. These additional victory points are what inspired the first list as I thought My DC and rec could hunt the hq/elite while my assault squad tied down other mission objectives. Any comments would be appreciated!

List can't have any vehicle with av of front and sides above 33 so switched the drop pod out for a razorback and dropped one DC to accommodate change.

Would i be better of combat squading the Assault marines? My thought were it might give me more of an ability to capture mission objectives.

I run usually a full JAS squad with some DC and a libby at 500 pts. I like the libby at low point levels for his utility. Your call, the reclusiarch is better for CC.

Don't forget that you cannot assault out of a Razorback in 6th Edition. DC are also very expensive at this point level. Go with your second idea, but evaluate if you really need as much anti-vehicle as you have since your opponent will also be at 500 points with a 33 AV limit.

I would run the second list, but drop the second JAS for 4x DC with JPs. I would also probably drop the PF off of the other JAS for a PS with MBs instead, just in case of challenges.

I did the first list but was able to take the drop pod. The DC may have been "expensive" but they went on a rampage during my game. I tabled my opponent and DC killed His libby HQ, Scouts, and assault marines. The DC had bolters and coupled with the Rec's reroll ability they were unstoppable.
