Hey all.

I'm heading off to University in September and was wondering if anyone out there knows of any gaming club(s) at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. I'd like to know beforehand, so I know whether to bring my 40k or not. Being a student, space will be pretty tight, so I don't want to bring them if they aren't gonna get used.

Hey there.

I'm not at Heriot-Watt university, so I don't know about a club there, but if you are 18 or over you could check out the Edinburgh League of Gamers. Its where I game when I'm at uni, a great club with loads of friendly members and 40k is always being played, as well as WHFB, Warmachine and Hordes, Blood Bowl and loads of other games. The club meets on Wednesdays from 6-11pm.

I believe that there is also a 40k tournament scheduled for the 1st of September. PM me if you want more info!

I think 1500 is probably the most commonly played points value.

In edinburgh, you have the ELG as Castiel said, but a new gaming place just opened in the city center, IT's really nice, does cheapish food, has a discounted store attached and is open 10:00 to 22:00.

There's also a table at the back of the GW on the royal mile, but it's a bit busy and cramped.

Good shout, I'd forgotten that had opened, despite all the stuff about it on 6s2hit! What's it like inside, I haven't had a chance to go and see it yet?

Really nice and white, as you walk in the door there's the little cafe bit, withtwo tables and some barstools looking out the window, then next to the door to downstairs it looked like there was an empty notice board (only been open like a week when I went there). downstairs 6s2hit has its own room, with some stock on display and a 3d printer!!!!

the gaming room looks like it could fit 4-5 6x4s and has a massive library of board games too, they were setting up some PCs in a side room off the gaming area, so it looks like you'll be able to play WoW or other stuff there too. Everything was nice and clean, chairs didn't feel to solid though but that's the only fault I can think of.

I'm off to Heriot Watt in September as well. So this is good to know.

I know Mansfield is a fair distance from Edinburgh but we're trying to invite as many 40k players, and gaming groups, to a 40K Narrative Campaign Weekend at Maelstrom Games.
