Hey guys,
while I was at gencon I had the pleasure of meeting with one of the directors on Malifaux, and it looks like I'll be doing some artwork for them in the future.
I'm not very familiar with the universe, any good places to kind of get a good feel/information about everything? Also, pictures, I like those too.
Thanks

Fortunately/unfortunately, the best and pretty much only place to get lore are the books themselves.
On the other hand, they're full of tons of stories, fluff, and lore.
Little bit of lore:
http://www.malifaux.com/History.php
Another thing about pictures is that the majority of them are within the books themselves.
You probably already know of the main site:
http://www.malifaux.com/
It's one of the more artistically-driven miniatures game sites I've seen.
Other than that, the official forums will have lore-nuts willing to answer any questions, no doubt.

I just looked at your portfolio, and your stuff is amazing. I really look forward to your work with Wyrd!

I'll have to try and check out some of their stuff next time I'm at my FLGS.

Googling Wyrd Malifaux can bring up some art... The easiest way to describe the setting? Steamvictoriohorrorwestpunk There are elements of horror, westerns, and Steampunk (which include elements of the Victorian Era... ) and like it has been said... The rule books are the best place for art styles as well as you might be able to draw inspiration from the different stories in the books.

Yeah, the general theme seems to change depending on which faction it tends to be set around at the time. Though I think the more common backgrounds were a victorian city, a western looking city and swamplands. It's part of what makes it so interesting.
Seeing your work before in the 40k section, it'd be pretty cool if they eventually used your work for some fate deck.

Yea, I was definitely drawn to Malifaux's crazy style, both their wild environments and crazy character/monster designs. Decks of pictures are cool
I am looking forward to working with them for sure.
