Nurgle Veteran Marine with the Flu

Hi, we came up with a question on today's battle. It might be silly but here it goes..
It states on rulebook that you can't keep on reservers more than half your units so the questions is,
How do you calculate this for IG? Is a platoon 1 unit? For example 1 PCS 2 IPSs and 3 HWTs. Is it one? Or 6?
And what about al raheem's platoon? Sorry but I m a bit confused. Please help..

A platoon counts as 1 unit for the purposes of reserves. Al'rahem's platoon must outflank, and therefore do not count towards reserve limits.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Not quite...
Per the FAQ, Infantry Platoons are deployed in place of a single unit in missions that limit the number of units that can be deployed. This is not related to Reserves. You do roll collectively for the whole Platoon when making a Reserve or Outflanking roll, but units that are in reserve that are embarked upon a non-dedicated transport are rolled for separately (so those SWS on Vendettas don't get rolled for with all the Infantry Squads).
So each unit purchased for the Platoon get counted individually.
Al'rahem has no bearing on how Platoons are counted. His entire Platoon is required to Outflank, so per the Reserve rules they are all ignored.
So your 1 PCS, 2 IPS and 3 HWTs were 6 units held in Reserve.

If you look at pg 96 in the codex right after it describes what is in a platoon it states that they are rolled collectively when rolling for reserves not individually. also the faq says
"Page 96 – Infantry Platoon, second sentence
Change to “Each Infantry Platoon is deployed in place
of a single unit in missions that limit the number units
that can be deployed. In addition when making a
reserve or outflanking roll, roll once for the whole
Infantry Platoon. Any units in reserve that are
embarked upon a non-dedicated transport are instead
rolled for separately.”
so you roll once for the platoon in reserve not individually.
