After travelling my orks for the first time (I used an AoBR box set to do so), I pulled them out and some of them were broken (it used to be just fine for my eldar! Silly me...)
So now, im looking into buying some kind of case for the orks, though im not sure where to even start...
Is there one big enough for fliers, along with infantry?
Also, is it just me, or do the ork warbike bosspoles break far far too easily? Especially the ones with the grots on them just snap if you look at them wrong :/

http://us.battlefoam.com/categories/Battle-Foam-P.A.C.K.-System-Bags/ Take your pick, the number is to represent how many regular troops (so boyz) it can carry, they have foam for darn near anything, the foam has a lifetime warranty and the bags have a one year warranty. They do have an aus portal to the website so you may want to check your prices

I can see it now....Nids are now a collection of autonomous hive fleets there are multiple Hive Minds and they all war with one another in addition to everyone else. They speak to humans using telepathy, and they can now ally with Space Wolves as battle brothers, because reasons.
Tyranids talking to humans would be like you talking to your mashed potatoes or the probiotic in your kiefer drink. It is neither possible nor productive. Inside my mind I pinched my nipples and savored his bitter silence.

Battlefoam P.A.C.K. systems have a hard plastic shell in the case making it fairly hard to break.
as for the foam, arent bommerss the same chasis as jets if so

So it is, didnt see that there!
Although i decided to try the custom trays because thats alot easier than the generic trays..
Then i noticed that they dont have the ork warbiker shape on the tray customiser :( I assume its just the space marine bike that we're meant to use.
Pretty damn good site anyway!

Ork armies bring sooo many models that foam trays are 1. too bulky, and 2. my boys don't fit in any pre-cut or customizable trays.
I put magnets on the bottom of all my Boyz, especially the metal ones, and started carrying them in metal tool boxes with 2" deep trays. They line up nicely in the trays, are extremely accessible, and you can pack a ton of them in the space available. The lid area on top can fit Battlewagons, Trukks, and Walkers (which are magnetized as well) just fine. Not too sure if a Dakkajet will fit, but everything I own fits in the two cases I have, and I have room left over.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time. |

Personally I think battlefaom is overpriced. I would get a KandR or Sabol. I fit my entire ork army minus the 2 stompa's and one skull hammer into two Sabol Armored Company bags. I paid 110 for each bag full with foam. My ork army is over 7k points 2 battle wagons, 2 trucks, 2 dread, 2 jets, 9 kanz, and over 350 assorted boyz, with about 20 different HQ picks.

I looked at the armoured company ones, but the sites not exactly user friendly like the battlefoam one is. Certainly cheaper though.. but near impossible to navigate and organise.

When people ask about cases i recommend this, its not pre-cut foam, but it has 3 layers the bottom being pick and pluck (perfect for tanks/trucks). All for 12 bucks at walmart, or 20 at gander mountain (if you have one near you) I have 2 and just one holds my 2000 point eldar army, the other holds my flyer dice codex templates, and will soon be my imperial guard carrying case.

Make sure you check out a range of cases before you buy. You might find out that you prefer as it's down to personal taste mostly. Make sure to check out KR Multicase too, I got a dual aluminium case for my Orks and it's been fantastic, but make sure you take a look at all of the different options before choosing. Everyone has their own personal preference.

Here's the link, they should ship to Australia but I'm not certain.

I actually looked at KR because of tgf's recommendation, but again their website is pretty poor with the info they give, and how limited their options are.
I was looking at the double aluminium case myself, they look damn sexy. But then the tray selection is incredibly limited. They dont tell you how big the case is, how much fits into it etc...
Maybe im spoiled by battlefoam's website, but if im gonna spend like $200-300 on a case, then this kinda info is essential..
Also walmart arent available in AU :(

I bought a KR backpack for my SW and it is pretty good i can carry 5k of models around comfortably with little worry of stuff breaking.
Yes site isnt great but the packs themselves are good quality and you can pick your own combo's to fit in what you need.

I really do love the look of the aluminum cases from KR, but it doesnt give any indication on how big the cases actually are, or how much foam can be fitted inside them :/

When I ordered my Ork case from KR there were a number of different combinations of trays and the site told me exactly what I could fit into the case with each tray combination. Was this before or after they updated the site?

Theres a part of the site that shows what fits into the trays... But it doesnt show how big that tray is. Well it does, but at the same time doesnt.
Like the double aluminium one can have 2 KRU worth of trays, but it doesnt say what a kru is, or how much each of the premade trays are worth in kru... Automatically Appended Next Post: I could just be a little slow this morning though, i just dont get it

Not sure, it just seems to demonstrate how the foam would fit in the aluminium case, as that is black lined as well. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have to throw my hat in for Battlefoam as well.
What put me off KR was their website. I couldn't make heads or tails of what I needed. I spent 2 minutes on Battlefoams website and know what I wanted. While I know emailing KR would have yeilded results, the fact that they can't even be bothered decrypting their tray system on their website in an easy to find part of the site speaks volumes to me.
I'm transporting Tyranids, so I've got some of the same problems an Ork player has. Awkward shaped models with parts that can break off? Check. Loads of models in all different sizes? Double check. All I do when I want a tray is jump on their website and have a look at what I tray I need. If it's not there, custom create a tray.
If you're hesitant on price, save up and hold off for a little while for their Black Friday sale, where they do 25% off, and drop a big order.

KR have their own tray creator, but the quality of it is like 5% of what battlefoam has :(
Its only about $80 cheaper than battlefoam (what i want from KR), but as you said, their website is beyond terrible and that they cant be arsed to make it easy for the customer is a major put off...
Battlefoam. I emailed them asking why there was no ork warbike template in the tray creator, and they got back to me and said they were gonna put one in and in the meantime just to make a tray using the near right size for the bike rectangles, and just tell them and they'll do it for me.
So battlefoam, while more expensive, have won pretty easily with their customer service, and ease of use. I do like the KR cases, but yeah, impossible to navigate website.

You won't be disappointed with Battlefoam, especially going with their laser cut trays. They fit stuff really well, even odd shapes, and they're super space efficient. It's a different style of foam though. Instead of soft foam that hugs the model, it's semi rigid that allows a little movement. Works fine for me, and I haven't had any breakages, even with my 1520XL going for a tumble because I didn't secure it in the car, and took a sharp turn. As you said, it costs more, though I feel it's better to go with something a bit more expensive that I'm comfortable with.
