After shelving my Eldar kin armies, I'm planning to field 2000 (=1999+1) pt armies (one FOC only) made of my favorites in the 6th edition: Necrons, GK and Orks.

Viable combos are Necrons + GK and Necrons + Orks, while GK + Orks may not work very well together (desperate allies).

I'm looking for main forces of Necrons and GK, and ally detachments of Necrons, GK, and Orks.

Here are some sample lists of main forces (approx. 1500 pts) and ally detachments (approx. 500 pts). Exact pt costs will not play a role at this stage of planning.

Thoughts?

I would take the necron force and take out the destroyer lord so you can make you're warriors immortals and get other things.

Then take orc attachment A because you really don't need the flyer.

In fact, a Necron list with support from Nob Bikers looks really tasty:

10 grots and a runtherd

just under 500 points, the meks and big mek repair hull points while the burnas can pour flame on whatever they can get to.

Necron Ally list:

10x Guass Immortals w/ Night Scythe 270

Total 715

Massed Guass can kill any vehicle in the game, Scythes can kill any flier in the game, Anrakyr can MitM vs anything, the Lord can sponge wounds vs anything none AP2 (LOS fixes that)

Nice detachment. The Grots could man an ADL which would make them more useful.

Nob bikers are fun. (They really ought to have a bosspole)

So nob bikers and necrons, the fact this is actually competitive is a bonus.

I have a list that has a nob biker attachment with a Necron Flyerwing list.

Wins - 21 losses - 5 draws - 1.
