Just a few notes on the upcoming Summer Rampage event this Sunday, August 26th (start time: 11 a.m.)
Each participant can earn a potential of three out of the five pins. In the past, setting a limit on the amount of swag one player can garner have proved popular, but the player mix has changed quite a bit since then, so I suspect it is likely this may not be the case this time around. In the event I am mistaken, send me an e-mail, and if it seems like a majority of people might be in favor, I'll bring it up for discussion the day of the event.
Also, two of the prize kit pins are for the second highest scoring Warmachine player, and the second highest scoring Hordes player, respectively. As the rules allow players to change factions between games, I would like to request that players who think they might be in a position to earn one of these pins to please stay within one of the two game systems for all their games - record-keeping can get kinda sticky, otherwise.
At least a couple of players have indicated they want to play at least one Unbound game (and thereby earn a hefty 8 points for the extra time involved in such a venture). We expect to be able to accommodate these players, but may have to make some on-the-fly adjustments on the day of the event if a particularly inauspicious mix of players show up (basically, we would like not to have a single 35-point army player sitting on his hands for a small eternity waiting for an Unbound game (any Unbound game) to finish, or have the same pair of 35-point players fighting each other three or four times while waiting for a new opponent).
It was also pointed out to me that Retribution players have some nasty answers to the "Ancient Shroud" in the form of Ghost Sniper solos, who (along with p-Eiyriss) can choose to do three points of damage to a target instead of making a damage roll. I'm not exactly overjoyed about this situation (the theme of the event is gonzo warbeast/warjack mayhem, not "Snipers are the Ret's best friend"), but that's the rule Privateer used. Just a head's up.
Also, just in case anyone has overlooked it (I almost did), a reminder that army lists must conform to the "Fight Club" rules; in practical terms, this means most 35-point armies won't be taking more than 10 or 11 points of warrior models -- a rather significant restriction (at least, considering the kind of lists I usually prefer), so worth emphasizing.
Hope to see you guys at the Realm on the 26th,
- Bruce
Thanks, Jon
