I mostly play vs power armour, and this list is for a tournament.

Rune Priest (jaws, lightning)

Elite
Lone wolf (Termi, Storm shield, chain fist) He is the one, that destroys any tank or monster on the table. And my opponents fear him.

2 wolf guard (combi plasma, lightning claw) They go to the grey hunters unit.

Wolf guard. I drop him to the long fang squad, to give them one more body, so that I could save those M.L.

Troops
2/6 Grey hunters (Plasma, Standart) They ride in the rhinos.

10 grey hunters (2 plasma) They go in to drop pod, and I usually drop them near the bigest thing that I fear.

Heavy
5 long fangs (4 M.L.)
5 long fangs (3 M.L., H.B.) The reason why I put a heavy bolter in there, is that its some times very effectiv to split fire, and shot it in to units that are holding an objective.

Transports.
2 rhinos
Drop pod.

But, I am also thinking to change some thing in this list.
I am thinking of droping the wolf claws from those wolf guard, and adding 2 wolves for the lone wolf, and wolf tooth nec. to the rune p.
What do you think?

I think you'll need more melta. The lone wolf is the only thing you have that can deal with armor and he's too easy to kill.

Sorry, but I dont agree here at all. Plasam is better that melta i my game style, and, if you would have used a lone wolf, you would know that its a pain in the ass to deal with him, with 2+ armour save, 3+ invul, and 5+ feel no pain.

yes he has a 3+ invulnerable. But he's only one model with 2 wounds. Suppose your opponent really doesn't want you to kill his Land Raider. He could shoot his entire army at your lone wolf and he'll probably die. And then you won't have anything that can kill his LR.

Plasma is great - I like 2xplasmagun GH squads with a wolf priest to give them preferred enemy re-rolls to hit and wound. But you need to have some melta or else you'll get smashed by AV 13 armies.


I'm just sayin'.

My advice would be to drop the long fang squad with the heavy bolter and use the points to max out your other two Grey Hunter squads. Arm one of those squads with 2 meltaguns and the other one with 2 plasmaguns. Then switch both rhinos for drop pods.

EDIT : In my old post it does sound like I'm saying that the lone wolf is easy to kill. Let me re-state - He's NOT "easy" to kill, but it IS easy to focus on him because he is the only threat to armor.

I agree with Grug, your wolf will go down quickly. I only ran mine at 1500 pts when I could take my TWC as well as some wolves for some ablative wounds. Now granted I have yet to play a 1500 pt battle in 6th, I think the same mentality stands, your wolf will go down to mass fire. Now that is good and bad....

The good...the fire will be directed towards him and not other units, which is sometimes a nice trade off, you lose a 85 pt model, while your other guys don't take the hits. This is usually a good situation as the same fire directed towards other units would take out more than 85 pts of your army.

The bad...when he dies, so does most of your AT.

I would at least take some Lascannon in the LF, or do as Grug states and make one GH squad more melta friendly.

All of your AT actually. Plasmaguns don't count because they can't even scratch AV14 and only rarely glance AV13.

Ok, I will try out with melta, but I still think that palsam is much better in this edition, evean a glance can make a result, 4 glances and no land rider.
I was thinking of taking las in to those long fangs, but I need to find some points for that.

He is 85 pts according to AB. I can't go over the point breakdown, but I am pretty sure it isn't 100. He is 105 if you give him two fenrisian wolves, that is how I use to run mine, except with a TH.

Hey [user]steam[/steam], you're right that plasma is good in this edition. But you still NEED melta to deal with high armor values. Of course this depends on your meta and I'm sure you will see fewer mechanized lists. However, there are still people taking those AV 14 beasts like Land Raiders, Monoliths and Lehman Russ's. You still have to be prepared for that and that means at least a little melta.

But you're right - I don't think you should give every unit some melta like you would in 5th ed.
