Hey guys,
So after a long long break from warhammer I am getting back into it, I havent played a game yet as I still building my army. My army is IG DKoK and I want to put sand bags and barbed wire and crumbling brick walls etc on the bases of my heavy weapons squads.. It's purely for show, I dont expect them to get constant cover saves or anything!
Do you guys think that would be OK or will people complain?
Cheers

Yes, its completely fine, as long as you don't try to claim a cover save.

Yeah, actually the core rule book recommends adding to the base, and specifically spells out you do not get a cover save from anything on the bases (something about you cannot pick up your cover and take it with you).

Don't try to add too much though as it can detract. But, on the larger bases you'll have tons of space to more or less go crazy with it.

How are your DKoK models?
I ordered a company of them to use as henchmen for my GK, and half the weapons were bent or snapped when I got them. Anything that was thin was extremely poor quality and any surviving weapons were quickly destroyed in storage.
And yes, I ordered directly from GW.
Didn't matter for me since I wasn't gonna use those weapons anyway, but if I were building a DKoK army, I would have been pissed.

I didn't have any problems with any of mine - the weapons are all a bit bent but I think that goes for all IG... I would contact FW, they have always been great at sending out replacement sprues for me, it just takes a few weeks for it to arrive.
Cheers

Sandbags are definitely okay, but I'd rather hide behind a porta-jon than sandbags.
Long story.

Some people model their scouts backed up against a wall.
That's quite a good cover save, if allowed (not that it is)
