Does anyone have an idea for ripper wings for nids? Or know or have seen someone use them?

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

-This is tricky to do correctly, but it would be a good, cheap alternative if you don't mind the challenge:

Adjust everything to the appropriate scale you need for your rippers, and it shouldn't be all that difficult.

-Check out the Elves fantasy range for helmets and stuff with little wings on it that you can steal or something.

-Steal the wings from these little guys:

-Take a look outside the box. Found a forum where a guy used these instead. To top it off, they're only (EDIT) $1/bat:

Otherwise, grab either plasticard or cellophane and start snippin' with scissors or a razor blade...

Good luck, hope that helps.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

there's also the old warhammer quest bats as well. find them on ebay. they're good because they are plastic. I dont know if the vamp counts bats are.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

The last set that I did I used a bat shaped paper punch (one of those Halloween finds), some thin brass sheet and epoxy putty (Procreate IIRC).

The punch was able to knock out a bunch of bat shapes from the brass in short order (pretty sure it voided the warranty - though it still works). I cut those to have two wings and tossed the body section. Pliers and patience to bend them all so they weren't stiff flat. Putty to build up the "fingers and arms". Mount to the body and blend in with a bit more putty.

If you decide to go the "decoration" route - you may want to head to the store to see how big they are in person. Price isn't a good indicator of size - and a lot of those are bigger then you might think. I have used similiar wings for making batwinged pegasus, and those would be a little on the large side for rippers.

For a more ready to use option - that still isn't that costly, don't forget that a few companies still allow you to order up bits direct:

These wings should be about the right size - though there are another several dozen others to pick from as well. I think Iron Wind Metals has a similar service, though not set up for online ordering.

Hmm. I have to think logistically, since they're flying and will be raised off the base their center of gravity will be off and they could topple with metal wings. I'm gonna try to do plastics. But I think you gave me a brilliant idea none the less.

I'll cast plastic copies of the secon set of reapermini wings.

Brass sheet might actually be lighter than plastic, but it'll definitely cost more than getting thin sheets of plastic styrene.

Thats not a bad idea. Make a stamper and just punch out copy after copy and then just green stuff away....
