It looks like it's just half of the old leman russ kit? Surely that's not right. I can see wanting the old turret or something, but that just seems like a wierd thing to sell.

Is it maybe the OLD Leman russ accessory pack that used to come with the really old tanks? The one that has the tiny, spikey dozer blade and the awesome looking hunterkill missle? Because I may actually want to buy that

I just looks like loads of guns and sponsons etc.

On a side note... Do the Lemans still come with the track guard sprue?

Unfortunately no, but they're on the tank upgrade sprue. They're also pretty easy to find on eBay, and I think they came in the box with some of the older russ kits.

I myself have bought 2 of the LR accessory kits and have 2 LRs now for less than the cost of 1. If you are good at scratch building, like with foam board and plastic card and my personal favorite, linoleum floor tiles, you can build the track units for the tank. The side sponsons were a little tricky, but I got them working and even magnitized them.
I plan on getting another kit so I will have 3 whole tanks for less the cost of one!

Hah that's just a means for them to get rid of the old plastic sprues. If there are bits you need, try Bitzbox or a similar site.

That Sprue,

Is actully only a 1/3rd of a 4th edition Leman Russ Battle Tank. (its has a smaller turret to a 5th)

The hull structure, the cannon, the lascannon, the top half of the turret and thats preety much it.

There are NO tracks, no underside to the turret (so it can't slot into it, no less hold its gun), so its only part of a Leman Russ.

unless you have the above handy (from a 4th edition russ) you can't do much with it.

Me on the other hand.... built a Hover tank Exterminator from it with plasticard, the engine from a Storm Raven and many many bitz, plus a flying base i had left over, which it sits on to "Hover"




If you can scratch build/convert well eniogh then go for it. if you want spare parts then its fine. but by itself it can't make a Leman Russ. only part of it.

Like it has been said, it is not a complete kit, BUT if you have the ability to scratch build, you can get a full LR from it. I used a tongue depressor on the bottom with a washer and some sprue to make the bottom of the turret. It holds the cannon in place and fits and locks into the hull where it should be. You just have to get creative. The people I game with are impressed with what scratch building I do. They also get worried, because I am fielding more and more armor against them for about 1/3 the cost!!

I thought it was the Mars Alpha pattern hull plus sponsons and the older, smaller turret?

You can get the track guards in the Tank Upgrade sprue as well and its much more useful as you effectively also get a "free" crewman as well plus loads of bits that can be useful on other stuff

You can use that sprue to create a full Leman Russ. You just need to glue down the turret, and add sides. You can also add wheels to make it look like a WWII armored car.
