So I've been looking around lately for additions to my recent daemon army. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the forgeworld plague toads yet am not too keen on taking them as beasts of nurgle and feel they deserve their own unit. Anyway, with that out of the way this was my idea for giving rukes to the Plague Toads:

Fast Attack

40pts/model up to 10 models/unit

WS: 3
BS: 0
S: 4
T: 5
W: 3
I: 2
A: 3
Sv: 5+ inv
Ld: 10
Type: Jump Infantry (as they literally jump being toads and all)
Special Rules: Slime Trail (count-as defensive grenades), Noxious Touch, FNP

That's pretty much it. Obviously they are kinda based off the beasts but are more tailored to fit a fast attack role and make-up where the beasts fall short in the dex. I'm all up for suggestions to balance or change them. This is my first time posting here I think so looking for some constructive feedback. Thanks!

These guys seem so unecessary. Nurgle doesn't *need* to have a fast option, just like Khorne doesn't need a ranged specialist choice. Remove Jump Infantry and remove the D3+2 attack value, as that seems just plain silly.

See, I can understand why Khorne doesn't need a range specialist option considering it's in the very nature of khorne to get into cc more than anything. I don't however see the problem with wanting a nurgle unit in the fast section whether or not it could be considered "fast". Every other god has an option in each slot except nurgle so why not give them a fast option? I guess I wouldn't mind so much if beasts of nurgle were better, but with only 2Ws and the potential of having base 1 or 2 attacks they just seem pretty lack-luster...They either need to be replaced completely or given some better rules. Perhaps that is what I'd like the toads to be: a better replacement for those who would want to run mono-nurgle. I would like to keep the jump on them still. It might seem silly but I kinda like it. Real world toads might not be the best at jumping, but they do it nonetheless. Plus I like the mental image of a fat plague toad hammer of wrathing some surprised space marines.

But I'll edit the attacks if you think that would be more acceptable and make the a simple base 3 attacks.

Though hammer of wrath can be its own seperate rule. It's not dependent on jump infantry. I suppose I'd be up for simply making them beasts and giving them the hammer of wrath rule. Thoughts?

Well Nurgle isn't a rapid attack style of play, they're supposed to be shuffling, sluggish creatures. Like I said, just because they don't have a unit in the FA section doesn't mean they *have* to have one. 3 base attacks is fine, but I still think they're too fast for the role. If you *still* want them to be fast, I would give them a variant of Slow and Purposeful, for example, letting them roll an extra D6 and add the two highest together.
