So, what units/tactics for orks work well against them, particularly ravenwing although deathwing as well. I have a game coming up against them, and I want to know what works best Thanks.

Fight like you were fighting marines?

I see from your sig you have 3000 points of Orks. I assume you didn't buy them all at once, so you should know how to fight a marine army.

Yeah, DA just a marine chapter.

All kinds of Ork lists, Speed Freaks, Killa Kan wall, Nobz Bikers, BW, should work well vs. Marines.

I veto kan wall, that doesn't work very well anymore.

Nob bikers. They haven't much that can really hurt them. Plus nob biker precision shots are deadly against deathwing. Then they keep up with the moves of ravenwing.
I do bring vindicators with my deathwing, probably best to keep the nob bikers away from them.

Deathwing tend to have SS/TH, some even take powerfist and storm bolters so in combat you should fair very well indeed. They carry missile launchers so will probably back away and shoot.
Ravenwing are fast and MSU, this is an issue for orks. However, they are fearless so once in cc your klaw will munch through the guys.

Sammael, they guy in a landspeeder has av10 on the back but av14 on the sides and front. This is important to know.
Belial, the captain of the deathwing can be instant killed, he isn't so hard and usually comes with SS/TH so strikes last.

Deathwing assault:his terminators can teleport down first turn. This is quite nice for orks, if they want to come closer it is fine by me(when playing orks.)
Ravenwing bikers have scout. So you wish to be careful with your vehicles first turn. Again if they wish to get into even MM range I am happy as an Ork.

But as has been said if you know how to deal with marine bikers and terminators there is nothing too nasty there compared to other marine chapters.

In fact, the kan wall lost an edge in the new edition.

Issues are the reduced cover saves from KFF and the fact that Killa Kanz are weaker in cc against units with grenades (krak, haywire).

Using nob bikers vs DW woould be brutal. Even if they are using all Th/SS, you wont get instant killed so you still get your invul and fnp (which hopefully you take a painboy for). You will probably have a fair amount of PK attacks as well to finish them off.

That said, they are really expensive.
