I was wondering if anyone can clear up the rules for this gun for me. Now, it says that the unit being fired at can only claim a cover save from cover they are in or behind, if the terrain lies between them & the hive guard. Now, as far as I can see, that means that if the hive guard is hidden, that means the unit being shot at is always gonna get a cover save, as the terrain is always gonna be in the way. Is this correct?

If not, can you give me some examples of when a cover save wouldn’t be warranted.

Thanks.

The impaler cannon got FAQ'd a while ago, you can only gain cover saves from the cannon if you are in area terrain now.

Can you send me a link to that, or let me know if it’s in the old/new faq. I have both.
Thanks.

It is in both the last 5th ed faq, and the new 6th ed faq.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I would say no, they would not gain the benefits of a cover save caused by Jink.

Impaler cannon ignores all cover based saved except those it specifies.

No, the only cover counted is the cover that the (Target is In) or the (Target is Touching), if that cover lies between the Target and Hive Guard. Any other cover between the HG and target is ignored.
