How can you make successful escaltion league? More importantly, how do you make it last?

1. Simplicity...dont try to complicate it with campaign style rules. Just increase the points value every period.
2. Time.... gauge how often most of your buddies get to play. If they play 1 or 2 times a week, then require a game every week. If they dont then give them 2 weeks etc.
3. Investment....give them a reason to stick it out (example: we used a 15$ entry fee, paid whenever anyone entered the league, it was then used to buy small prizes and pizza at the end)
4. Carrots...Prize at the end, leaderboards etc
5. Email reminders/messageboard to help schedule
