Hello, I have searched the forum...and I think it has all ready been disputed...but I can't ind the answer

So...can you sweep with your Necron Overlord a Flyer?

What do you mean by sweep?

He means the sweet attack, where you can attack a unit you pass over. Regarding the question, I think it's been discussed before: It's legal as the rules go, but it's an incredibly un-fluffy, un-RAI way to play.

Ya know, its interesting here in this case. Sweep attacks are not Close Combat attacks, ignoring the mention that Fliers cant be assaulted. Its not a shooting attack either as it isnt defined as one. Its not an auto hit either so it can avoid the notion from Snap Shots.

It also a funny thing on that cause it also prevents a flier from making its Jink save as no 'to hit' rolls were preformed (though one would point out that Sweep still had us roll for each attack on the riders profile). Not to mention that Sweep Attacks also outline that no cover saves can be taken against those attacks.

RAW: Absolutely. Every single stage of the rule seems to have been written in such a careful manner as to allow it, and I suspect this is not just a coincidence.

RAI: I also think, yes. Having a Necron Overlord slash at the underbelly of a Flier passing overhead strikes me as being the sort of 'cinematic' thing that GW has been pushing with 6th Ed.

The sweep attack can only be made by chariots. Is the Flyer in question a Chariot? (Serious question. I don't know) You are referring to the Night Scythe, correct?

Yep, it's a chariot and a skimmer. Meets all the qualifications for to make sweeping attacks.

Only Skimmer Chariots can do Sweep attacks.
