I'm going to my first GT!
I've decided to travel from SC to FL for BeakyCon for my first GT as a buddy of mine is going (Al Blakeborough-2011 Winner). I am planning on taking a Necron List that I'm in the middle of building so I am kinda pushed for time; Painting, playtesting and the sort.
Anyways, like I said in the Title the final list is due in 6 days! and I'm not quite satisfied with a build yet. This is just my latest idea and I actually like the idea but I want to hear your guys votes.

Plan:
Now this is a hybrid of a list that I made and a list from one of the guys from 40k Wrecking Crew.
With the Overlord and 2 Crypteks in the Ghost Ark, and two Doomsdays behind the Aegis I want to use range and terrain to plant myself outside of prime target areas and wait out the first turn. Since The Arks have 72" I can really use the table to my advantage and am almost certainly going to survive the first turn. AV13 with a 4+ Cover when only a couple of things can hit me is really reliable. Oh, and I can create Night Fight.
Turn 2: Flyers come on, and with Comms Relay that should be most, if not all, of them. WIth 6 It's going to be a devastating turn.

I took the Nightmare Shroud as a 15 point cheap shot at deterring DA Termies and some other backfield problems. All it takes is one failed Morale Check for me to capitalize.

With the way that Night Scythes work I cancome on the board and start dropping troops wherever I need them and letting Tesla do its thing on infantry, Especially after I pop a couple vehicles.

As it stands I've done very well with similar lists and the only super problem I forsee is a Mirror-Match, which could happen.

Again this is my FIRST GT and although I want to do well, it's really just a chance for me to gain some experience.

Have you looked at the list of jy2? See the section on battle reports. He did extremely well in Golden Throne GT, CA.

I have actually looked at his list. Great list, but he is a far superior player to me so I'm looking for something a little more flexible for just an average competitior.

Breaky is also 1999 pts just a heads up.

Just a thought, you mentioned encountering a mirror army. Judging by the popularity (well-deserved) of the Necron Air Force list I would try to practice some games against similar lists as yours for experience. There's a good chance you'll end up playing one (one of my buddies is bringing a similar list).

I've put in over 20 practice games with a couple variations of lists in the past 3 weeks and plan on many more. The lists I'm playing are very AA and include usually 2_4 flyers.
