Hi dakka, i'm in need of some information.

When it comes to varnishes, i know nothing about them.

The extent of my knowledge is Gloss Varnish is shiny, and Matt Varnish isn't.

I would like some information on how to use them effectively and what each type of varnish is better over (e.g. Gloss over Metallics to make it shiny)

Also, what is Satin Varnish? Somewhere between Gloss and Matt?

Apologies for my ignorance on the subject

If it's any help, i paint Power Armour most of the time, so examples related to PA would help alot
Thanks!

There are a couple of threads going on about this already so use the "search" function to find them. They should contain all the information you need.
