Recently got Imperial Armour: Apocalypse Second Edition. The Malanthrope and Stone Crusher Carnifex look quite cool, but are they viable? The Stone Crusher looms pretty good, but I'm not sure about the Malanthrope.

Only problem with Stone Crushers is that you can't run them in broods...

The Malanthrope looks over-costed, but what's new in Tyranid land The Stonecrusher is a better CC Fex than the vanilla Fex, but still overcosted. If you do wanna run a CC Fex though Stonecrushers are the way to go, unless you really need to cram more into a brood. On the upside Stonecrushers will vaporise any fort/building they touch, with +2 to damage results he Detonates forts on a 5+ and guarantees at least a Partial Collapse. With a little Psychic fun you can have a S10 T9 2+ Fex runnin around, almost like how our Fex used to be back in the days of 2nd! The good ol days when Fexen had Terminator equivalent armor by default and were tough as hell . . .
