Anyone have any idea of the likelihood of the Dark Angels getting the Stormtalon? Ive been list building quote a bit and having a support a Deathwing list with stormtalons would be awesome.

Rumours say no, but just ally from the SM codex man, and even paint the models DA! Just make sure you explain that to your opponent.

Think is, I am a Tau player. I get vanilla marines as battle brothers, but I was the take deathwing termies with Baliel to make them troops. Without taking an IA flyer i have no cheap flyer except for a Stormtalon or Ramora Tau Drone Fighter. I can make a comparable list with a vanilla SM librarian, assault termies and a troop and a talon but not the same love as Deathwing with apothocary and filling troop slots.

Well, another route would be vanilla Space Marines with MotF, sniper Scouts, 2 Dreads, and Stormtalon.

Gonna have to take them as green armored marines, no storm talons in Dark Angels... yet...

I'd be most surprised if the forthcoming Dark Angels codex doesn't give them the Stormtalon (and indeed the Stormraven for that matter); GW have plastic kits to sell.

I am trying to fill the mid field and close role with the terminators. Since my main FOC is Tau and they fill the shooty role I need some stabby and slappy. With the CC nerf that dreads got I cant waste points on them and the scouts may be an option to fill the allied troop requirement but i really need to get some either terminator or assault SM in there. Since they are bro fisting I can attach my warlord crisis suit with stimulant injectors to give them feel no pain and maybe Tigirius or another termy librarian for gating around the board with prescience.
I am going for the Gundam Tau type of list that is up on 3++. Maybe I can squeeze enough points out for a stormtalon in there.

Does it have to be a storm talon? Couldn't you achieve a similar role with typhoon speeders?

Yes probably but I am trying to field an anti-flyer. I know stormtalon is not the best for that but for the points it works. I have fielded some counts as FW Tau flyers and they work ok but not everyone wants to play with those. Namely a few players who have flyers or monsterous creatures and dont want to lose the air superiority.
