Mad Scientific Ineptitude covers a multitude of sins in greenish fire and accidental rampaging monstrosities.

I think there will be. Not quite sure, but it looks like its going to be inspired by the civ series.

Which is not...encouraging. Although We have no idea what zoom level that is to be fair.

There will be, some screenshots show quite large groups of soldiers and the existence of a soldier 'class' itself is a bit of a giveaway. It sounds as though the combat will be in the Dwarf Fortress mould rather than a more traditional RTS game.
