Hi folks,
Since Tyranids can't use allies, I was looking at fortifications - and had the idea for a Tyranid equilivent of the Agis Defense Line.

My thoughts are of representing the Defense Line via a wall of Hormagaunt bodies; looking on the table top like the gunned down remenents of a previous attacking wave - with the next wave (my live Gaunts) coldly using the bodies as cover as they charge towards the enemy, very Tyranidesque I would think

Firstly I'm going on the assumption that to model an alternative Defense Line, I need to match it's dimensions - namely height and width. Without owning the Defense Line, how does it fit with Termagaunts? Are they too short to get LOS, or can they see through it? Can someone tell me the height of the Defense Line up to the point of where the vision slit is, and what the width is per component?

Finally, I don't tend to be the most original moddler - has anyone already done this so I can take a look at how they approached it?

Many thanks!

Dark Art Miniatures offers a nice alternative (and cheaper than a pile of Gaunts):

That's pretty sweet. I'm going to have to find out how much that is after concersion and with shipping.

I ordered one of the set pictured. It came out to $18.92 with shipping

I suppose a pile of dead gaunts 1" wide by 4" long for the big part and 1"x"2" for the short part would work... But I would go with something like kroothawk recommended.

Hell, it already comes in 2" end pieces and 5" middle pieces which is basically perfect with almost no modification. All pieces is 36.32US. I don't think you could scratch build or gauntpile for much cheaper
