The banner and apothecary need to be in the same unit.

And 6 attack bikes? How did you manage that?

A squadron is 1 serg and 2 bikers fpr 120pts + if you wish to include an additional 3 its only 100pts. 220pts for 6 bikes? Unless I mis-read something in the codex....

You did. In order to get attack bikes, you must have regular bikes in the squad.

I would seriously consider splitting apart the 2 speeders and giving them both typhoons, 10 pts for 2 missiles per turn is super cheap.

Ya does make sense.. What do you think of the list tho? Is it viable. Also wondering if aegis defense is worth the points for us?

I think it is pretty solid. I think a Libby would be better then your chaplain. I understand LD 9 is not appealing to most, but I don't see that it is that big of a deal. It opens your units up to some useful tools to help it out. You are not really getting much from the chaplain. Re roll hits on charge. You are allready fearless.

I agree with switch both speeders to typhoons and making them seperate.

I am not sure about your preds. I like to use vindicators more the preds. Full str now on all Ordance templates makes it a nice weapon for people that like to clump up there vehicles. The range realy doesn't hurt it to much.

CML's in all squads would be nice. But not really needed I guess. I don't play 1850 to much so I tend to have a bit more points to play around with. You also know the CML's can go on TH/SS or LC models right?

I wouldn't combat squad the bikes. You really need them to survive if you are DS everything. It would also be nice to get some plasmas on those bikes. They help with rhinos and heavy armored infantry.

hope this helps.

Excellent perspective! thank you this is what I need constructive criticism! Ya I can see where the chapliain lacks , good point with the bike being weak and needing the numbers to stay alive for the DW to do there thing

I run duelwing all the time. I even take Sammeal as my 2nd HQ.

Like I said though I play 2k mostly so I have a bit more points to fool around with.

This is what I run just for some insight on what I do.

Belial: LC's
Sammeal: Speeder

Dread: Plasma Cannon
Dread: Plasma Cannon

Terms:
Apoth: LC's
Banner: LC's
Sgt: TH/SS
LC's
LC's, CML

Terms: (Squads x2)
Sgt: TH/SS
LC's x2
LC's, CML
TH/SS

Bikes: x6
Sgt:
Apoth
2x Plasmaguns

Speeder: Typhoon, MM
Speeder: Typhoon, MM

Vindicator: Dozer
Vindicator: Dozer

Again good luck

i play all deathwing, so my view may be a bit different, but i would say change all of the lc in the command squad to th/ss except for one, you really want to be getting those invul saves and keeping your hq alive. I under stand the normal I are good but i also prefer S8 and with the extra A each it can do a lot of damage. Keep some LC's in the other squads though, they are very good

3500 (ish) points
who-knows-how-many points random stuff

I'll go all TH/SS right now, including Belial, even more than before. With the general return vs AP2 weapons the 3++ become better and better.

I will eventually, just for Challenges at regular I, keep one LC/LC per team. No more however.

Every molecule will be useful

6000+ pts NIDS
() 2000 pts growing to 4000...

I don't like doing all TH/SS. You get bogged down with less attacks. I do agree they are nice to soak wounds that could kill a termie normally. I have switch to 2/3 TH/SS at this point. It gives me the staying power I need but also some extra attacks in CC that I need.

But it really depends on who you play and what you really want.

I am slightly surprised no one has mentioned that you really ought to have CMLs for every squad.

I wouldn't bother with a 2nd HQ, they just take unnecessary points. The chaplain in particular requires you to assault, the enemy will either back away or assault you once you have deep striked anyway.
If you are going to get a second HQ you may as well take allies, it will be healthier for you.

Deepstriking termies I find is mostly a bad idea. In general you have the ability to shoots missiles out of range of most of the enemy. Instead you are choosing to have a unit off the board and then 2 units in rapid fire range of the enemy.
As such bikers have limited value. If taking them I would take 3 bikers and an attack bike, this gives you 2 homer units and can get in some early hits and do so cheaply.

Typhoons are dirt cheap. May as well as take 2 or 3.

preds are ok, at the moment I also want vindicators.

The only other thing is you have limited ability to tackle flyers.

If you are making these guys now I would be careful as you will have new models and a new codex. Whilst this means you can not guess what will be hot or not, I would recommend buying up ravenwing boxsets whilst they are cheap.

Good luck

Come on MFletch, if you noticed a few posts above I did actually mention that.

Good points though.
