Hi guys. As im sure youve seen i am getting an empire army which will be 2k. However ive had a play around with the lists and thought it best to just put what im buying out there and you guys could maybe help?

So.

I will he getting.

A wizard (1 painted shadow. One painted metal.)

40 greatswords.
Out of these i planned to also make...plus i have the genral box set still so those bits will go in
My Bsb. 2 warrior priests 2 engineers

80 halbediers.

40 handgunners

A mortar

A cannon

10 outriders/pistoleers.

And anlm currentlybin the very long process of making a custom steam tank and hurricanum...

Any advice would be great guys.

Is a horde of greatswords better than 5x6

Also i was planning on running the halbs horde formation. With the 2 5x4s on the sides

Halbs should be hordes, for hammers like Halbreds and Greatswords if not horded I like 7 wide, this will give you maximum attacks against other 5 wide 20mm troops. As for the list hmmmm. Captain, Priests, Level 4, Cannon, Horde of Halbreds, Pistoleers for redirecting/WM hunting... looks good to me.

Thankyou :-) i had 2 hordes of halbs before but then dropped a warrior priest to fit points... So that im effective again ive dropped one horde to 2 detachments to get the buffs again :-)

Sometimes putting your state troops in deep ranks is superior to hordes, for example if you need more ranks to keep stubborn or want to to reduce an enemy's amount of attacks.

List looks good though.
