Hi,

I have been working on some sanguinary priests for my blood angels and I wondered if anyone could help me with advice on the blood splatter. I have attempted this but i am not sure that it works and/or that its red enough. They are supposed to look like battlefield surgeons rather than medics. the aim was to make them look like a patch up guy who does the minimum to send the trooper back into battle rather than waste time on finess.

There really shouldnt be splatter if the blood is from one of their...patients.

Maybe just red fingers. The Narthecium would also be bloodied.

Unless yours have cleaning subroutines.

For blood spatter, use a very deep red. Dark brown mixed in is good too. The key is to avoid pink. I know several painters use Tamiya Clear Red for blood.

But I agree that a field medic shouldn't be covered in gore. Keep it to the hands and tools. Otherwise he looks like a butcher.

Could Butcher style be better? They are engaged in the long war and with the older mark of armour would they be more butcherish?

On this one I used some thinned red gore (don't know the equivalent of it in the new range) applied with a toothbrush:

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)
