I asked this in a thread but it was locked with no answer.

Does a chooser of the slain get around the nothing on the board at the end of a turn problem?
The scenario I have in mind is that you have had most of your force wiped off the table with a rune priest in reserve with a few other units. Does the chooser being on the board from the reserved priest allow you to continue playing?

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

The Chooser is described as a marker.
I'd be tempted to say a marker doesn't count as a model.

If you have nothing on the board at the end of a turn you loose. If your researves have not shown up but the rest of your force is all dead and round 2 ends YOU LOOSE, end game pack up! I dont know EXACTLY what the special rule you are talking about does but as per the BRB if a game turn ends and you have nothing on the board the game ends.

It is just a marker.

If you are jumping on the Dinobot meme bandwagon regarding the new Warhammer 40k Chaos models, grow the feth up!

No it doesn't. The chooser of the slain is not treated as a conventional model on the table, it is a 'marker'.

The rules for what constitutes a model start on page 2, but the gist of it is it has to have a stat block (strength, toughness, etc. even if they are 0 or -) to be considered a model.

Your suggestion is akin to claiming a 'ruin' that you've placed on the battlefield is a model in your army, or a tree...

Don't imply a motive. I was just wondering, a brain fart on my behalf but nothing more.

Thanks, I understood that.

umm... I didn't imply (well intend to apply anyway) any sort of motive. Perhaps you are reading something into it that isn't there?

Interesting side thought - does the rule for not having anything on the board state models, units, or otherwise?

I'm pondering (note - just pondering! So no implying, lack-of-implying-to-imply or anything) how it applies to fortifications. They're not a unit, but they ARE a model, and one that you purchase as part of your army list to boot. I'm sure the intention is that they don't count, but interested to see whether the wording supports that.

TBH, if the only thing you have on the board is a fortification then you will see the board get crawled by the opponent.

If you have no models at the end of the turn.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
