Hi Guys,

I had some free time earlier today, so I started a plan for a Horus sculpt, little did I know that by this point of the day, it is nearly finished!

He has the shin/foot of an old plastic termie, with a wire frame for the rest of his body, excluding the rear torso and head.

The rear torso is from the same termie, and the head a khrone berzerker with a converted jaw.

He is a few mm higher than a rhino, approx 45mm high atm.

My inspiration is from this picture, and plan on making him at the time of heresy:

BTW these pics are in chronological order

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the one with his new lower jaw... :L

Please C&C, as this is my first proper GS sculpt.

Thanks

Progreen10

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

Updates!

The lower jaw, removed "vampire" teeth from the berzerker head, shoulder pads, and his left arm.

Ok, seems like I'm going to be the first one to comment here... First of all I want to support your sculpting endeavors, and for the first time you're not doing bad. But seriously I think you're trying to pull too much. This is a superbly complex project and people usualy tend to start with something rather simple. I might be a perfectionist but such characters are meant to stand out on the table and draw excessive amounts of attention and thus they have to be as perfect as possible...

A few obvious but useful tips:
- work by small sessions to minimise the risk of ruining something and to spend more time perfecting each detail
- don't hesitate to post process your work with whatever tools you need
- GS is a treacherous material so I would suggest using something less gummy like magic sculpt, Tamia our Miliput

Fell free to ask guys around here for tips as there are many talented sculptors around dakka.

Cheers!

Thanks mate,

This will probably be replaced later on, when my GS skills have improved, I only really did it because I wanted to practice on something, and had a few free days of the summer hols. :3
