I was reading a tactica thread...http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/458910.page and in one part they said;

Crisis Suits- They about broke even in this edition. With new regroup rules teams of 2 or 3 are both good/efficient points wise.
Pros:
1) Can assault move after deep strike.(Makes deepstriking better in general and allows for safer use of Fusion Blasters).
2) Can Assault move after Run move. Aside from walkers Jet-packs are the only unit that can now do this. (Potential total movement is 9"-24" if not shooting, This mean that if we really have to get somewhere we average about 16" instead of the old 12"
XXX DOH- Unit does not get Hammer of Wrath.XXX
Thanks Pottsey, I read the Jump-infantry section like the one in 5th ed where they were Jump-infantry with different movement.

My question is, is this true that crisis suits can now make an assault move when arriving? If so why is this? Im reading the rules in the book and codex + FAQ but I'm not seeing where it says they can now as the codex says "though he may not make the addition d6" movement the turn he arrives", to me that still says you cant make the assault move the turn they arrive.

Re-read the FAQ, the entry on Stealth armour and Crisis Battlesuits have changed to

"...are Jetpack Infantry as are any drones attached to them. In addition they have the Acute Senses special rule."

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

im still not clear as to why that allows them to move in assault. i know it says in the rule book they can move after deepstrike, but i remember in 5th it said similar, but only applied to gundrones as the codex said you couldnt move in the assault phase with suits.

Hold on, neither Walkers nor Jet-packs can assault after a run.

The entry on page 27 is no longer valid. The entire entry regarding Crisis suits is changed via the FAQ. As such the part about not being able to make the jetpack move when deep striking (and only counting as stationary when firing rapid fire weapons) no longer apply. Page 47 of the BRB allows Jetpack Infantry to make the move even if they deep strike that turn.

He's talking about the Thrust move.

Thrust Move of Jet Packs is what is being discussed, not actual assaulting.

They were always Jetpack Infantry, however they had special rules regarding their Jetpacks. They finally changed it so they follow the BRB rules for Jetpack Infntry.

Page 27 of the tau codex says that crisis suits "may not make the additional 6" move in the turn they arrive." this is concerning arriving from deep striking btw. So anyways you cannot make the thrust move the turn you deepstrike in, nothing changed in the new edition as far as I know.

Riker, the information on page 27 is changed to what the faq says. There ie no restriction on thrust moves after deep strike.
