Without knowing all the wargear options, or what your local meta is like, here are some vauge suggestions:

(and without my codex in front of me for numbers)

2 full tac squads, in razorbacks. ~450 points
Snipers ~125
Captain ~150

2x Dreads

I don't have the rules for the Mortis dreads, but my understanding is that they are underpriced for what they do, and have an AA mode.

Are the tops glued on your razorbacks? Turrets on your preds? I'd rather field rhinos and auto/las preds. You pay a premium for the TL las that I don't think is worth it.

10 man tac squads can't go in Razorbacks. Stick them in Rhinos or Drop Pods depending on their role. As per standard, people tend not to use Company Commanders or Captains; Librarians are standard as well as the Special Character for the given C:SM chapter (Vulkan, Calgar, Lysander, Shrike, etc.) Other than that it depends on your play style.

It's fairly common for people to combat squad the sarge and special weapon, put them in a razor (maybe attaching a character) and advancing. The other 4 bolter marines stand back with the heavy weapon and provide fire support. I like keeping the who squad together in a rhino myself, but this is a "build from what I have post", and he has razors.

Not a huge fan of his unit selection in some points, but without knowing all the options we're stuck with general advice.

Srry guys for lack of info, first of all the current meta thats popular in my gamming scene is a wide variety of gk armies, tau, and a pretty nasty green wave. As far asoptions go on the tack squads i have not glued weapons on yet. Dreads are magnetised, scouts of course are dedicated snipers, terminators are from aobr set, storm talons are magnatized with all options and unfortunatly razorbacks and preads are glued up so no going back. And my particular group enforce the wat you see is wat you get rule. Any advice would def be appreciated. Winner of the tourney gets a dark vengeance box and a subscribtion to wd

Are you allowed to play with the mortis?
It is virtually impossible to have a balanced marine list at 1000 points.
As such try just try to build a list that will wreck most lists but has huge weaknesses.

I think all things considered a gunline with preds and razorbacks, it has its issues but just take the gamble, it should out shoot the enemy.

Else maybe try playing as blood angels get a couple of priests. Then field tactical marines and try to purely stay alive and win objectives.

librarian with termy armour is the best HQ you have. Storm shield?

Well the Mortis Pattern should be allowed in most games these days I would think. But checking with the toruney organizer is always a good idea.

If you can take the Mortis I would suggest:

Captain in Power Armour, 135 pts; Melta Bombs; Artificer Armour;

Tactical Squad, 200 pts; Bolt Pistol x9; Bolter x7; Plasma gun; Missile Launcher; Sergeant; Melta Bombs; Bolt Pistol; Power Weapon x1;

Tactical Squad, 195 pts; Bolt Pistol x9; Bolter x7; Plasma gun; Missile Launcher; Sergeant; Bolt Pistol; Power Weapon x1;

Tactical Squad, 180 pts; Bolt Pistol x9; Bolter x7; Plasma gun; Missile Launcher; Sergeant; Bolt Pistol; Chainsword;

Predator, 165 pts; Twin-Linked Lascannon; Lascannon Sponsons

Mortis Pattern Dread 125 pts; 2x Twinlinked Autocannons

I believe that comes to exactly 1000 Points and gives you a nice mix of a shooting line for infantry with enough anti-armor for most 1000 point games, plus enough scoring troops.

Libby does have a storm shield, and i do like the gun line. My brother is wanting to trade his doa blood angels army its around 2500 pts from wat he has tood me? Would that be a more conpetetive fighting force?
