I was contemplating purchasing a box of CSM Havocs, given they are likely to receive new models with the new codex.
But was unsure about one thing, what do you actually get in the box; are they all metal, or just have metal parts,
does it still include the metal champion with bionic eye? Does anyone have any pictures?

They are plastic CSM bodies, with mostly metal heavy weapons and a few other metal accessories (a couple of heads and metal backpacks to accommodate the weapons). Comes with a single metal lascannon, autocannon and missile launcher, and a plastic heavy bolter, as I recall.

In other words, a completely useless loadout. You're far better off purchasing the specific weapons you want; even though it'd be more expensive, you at least get a combination of weapons you want.

Or you could just wait and see if they get a new box with the CSM release. I doubt they'd come out with a better combination of weapons, though.

I would suggest waiting, or getting a devastators box set and doing some conversion work/kit bashing.

Waiting is the best thing at this time, If the dark gods are generous we will be able to take plasma cannons in the new dex, THEN converting a box of devastators will be worth it.

It's still worth it now for the weaponry options alone, sure they can't use the Multimelta or the Plasma Cannons but you can just sell them on ebay as bits for a bit of cash back.

You get pr box of Havocs:
1 Autocannon arm set, metal - held like the bolter
1 Lascannon arm set, metal - shouldermounted, with backpack, metal
1 Missile Launcher arm set, metal - shouldermounted, with backpack, metal

1 Chaos Marine standard five marine sprue, plastic
1 Chaos Marine special weapon and command sprue, plastic

There are sadly no special havoc metal heads in the box. You need to use the heads from the chaos vehicle sprue to recreate the pictures posted on the GW website.

The good thing about the set is all the spare special weapons. Essential you get one of each weapon except for heavy versions of plasma, melta and flamer, which chaos marines can't field anyway in the currect codec

I got my Havocs at a 40% off sale...that said, if the sale wasn't happening, they weren't getting purchased. Wait for the next kit.

I highly doubt that we will get plasma cannons in the new dex.

Anyway, currently (not sure for how much longer) oblits are way way better. Can use way more weapons, and are pretty easy to convert.

Yeah, I used some of my havocs to make a fire team conversion to represent my obliterators. Basically it's two men on one base
