I'm not sure about whirlwinds, although I've never taken a drop list. They seem to be overcosted for a very average damage output.

Where is He'Stan going? In a pod?

I much prefer drop pods with really awesomely deadly units inside to land first turn and tear up the enemy you have none.
Also you haven't much to tackle flyers.

Also whirlwinds?

Combimeltas are worth the points. Also a powersword would protect your serg. in challenges.

The main weapon in your list is the weight of scoring units. Just prefer more killing myself.

6 TAC squads is overkill imo. Save yourself about 400 points and drop 2.

Whirlwinds are foolish, one wrong scatter and it's landed on the TAC squad that just landed in their pod infront of the enemy.

With 2 HP on the LS, i think they are a no no. They will be one of the only thing on the table in turn 1. Doubt they will survive.

Dreadnoughts are good in a pod. More of them

And Sternguard with combi-melta are great.

How about Vindicators or Thunderfire Cannons for blastiness?

I am concerned about the Whirlwinds. They are inaccurate and are going to have a hard time avoiding targeting your drop pod troops. Perhaps two of the SM flyers instead. They fit your DP theme and direct fire support sounds alot better. TL assault cannon and then TL Lascannon, Typhoon Launcher or even Heavy Bolter should provide the support you need.
