Nope. You cannot reroll a reroll. One try, that's it.

I don't have my ork 'dex with me (lent it out to a pal as my orks are on pause waiting a MegaDread), but a friend today claimed that Boss Pole wounds still get a save... I didn't argue as I was crushing him and really didn't care (nor did I want to seem petty), but is that correct?

That is incorrect. You can only ever re-roll once for a given save or check; no matter what it is or what wargear may be interpreted to say otherwise. (see page 5 of the main rulebook)

Yes, a wound from a boss pole can still be saved against.
And no you can only reroll the LD test from a bosspole once. Period. Theres a rule in the book that even says you cannot reroll a reroll no matter how clever you try to be about it. Or something along those lines

They do.

Its treated just as if the bosspole wielder made a CC attack against the target of the wound with a big green fist (not a PK, Big Choppa etc..)

You get your save against it.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Boss Pole wounds do get a save as normal. It's in the FAQ.

I usually make the save once in every sixth attempt.

Per bosspole.
So if you have 10 bosspoles in a squad you can reroll LD up to 10 times.

Does the boss pole have an exception? Because if not, you can still only re-roll one time.

Exactly. It's still the same LD check being re-rolled. Multiple bosspoles won't let you keep re-rolling that same check multiple times.

And just to make sure it sinks in, it's on page 5 in the rulebook as already mentioned. A section conveniently named Re-Rolls. Read it if you doubt the negative answers.

first, you don't reroll leadership tests with the bosspole, just morale checks.

second, as per BRB, you can only reroll once

lastly the question is raised does the wording on PG92 of the ork dex "each time you fail a morale check", over ride the one reroll rule?

That is where people will often get the idea you can keep rerolling.

but the last sentence "in order to reroll that morale test" would indicate that you are making a re roll, and only get the one re roll.

If you had 10 bosspoles you could punch ten Orks, but you'd still only get one re-roll.

Ah, ok.
Weird that they allow you to buy 10 bosspoles for a nob squad when you can ever only use one.

Well, if 9 of your boss-pole wielders get shot out, you still have one.

I usually get two, so I can be sure at least one is alive when my 300 point unit has to pass a moral check.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

It's not the first time that GW have provided options purely for appearance value... like marine bikers with bolt pistols.

Agreed. Also, the boss poles were handy in 5th, when you could make a unit of Nobz complex. It was easy and cheap to just stick a pole on a random nob.
