Had a heated debate with a tourney goer about if Flyers "can" be flying over terrain and models or not.
When i read the entries on fliers it says you just cannot end your own personal movement within 1 inch of enemies. To my understanding this means a flyer could, for example; Fly over a small wall and end it's movement above the walleven if the base couldn't balance on it persay.
It also means you can also finish you move flying over friendly models (not very much advised if it gets shot out of the air...) correct?
Also if it's a flyer a battlewagon for example could drive under it and still be fine if it ends it's base under an enemy flyer because it is ONLY during your move correct? not the enemy's

The base has to rest on the table. If the base won't balance, you can potentially use Wobbly Model Syndrome.
The flyer rules specifically allow the model to be over other models, and for other models to move under it, but enemy models must always remain at least 1" away from the base, and the base must always stay at least 1" away from enemy models.

Great, glad to hear my interupitation of the rules was correct. It was woobly model syndrome which was a massive base couldn't balance on the ork low walls GW produced. I picked up the wall section and place it ontop of my base rather than rest a model i prize greatly on a tilt.
For clarity are you saying tho a battle wagon couldn't drive underneath the enemy flyer?

Mk thanks for that bit of info, again that is only due to the fact it's an enemy correct? if it were a friendly ork wagon it wouldn't have any problems correct?

Slight tangent on the topic of flyers.
From what I understand vehicles must fully move on the board and may not hang off, so while flyers hanging off the board not longer mysteriously explode it's not a legal move and it can be asked to continue moving until it's on the board. Also if a flyer ends it's movement with a wing hanging off the board it goes back into reserve.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
