Dark Angels Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

I was browsing through the rules for arnor the other day at my local gaming club and I realised they can have an all bow army, I went and got 24 rangers on impulse and now I'm trying to come up with a decent list. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Warband 1

Elladan and Elrohir, 140

7 rangers, bows and
4 rangers bows, spears. 92

Warband 2

Halbarad 65

8 rangers, bows and
4 rangers bows, spears. 100

Independent characters

4 rangers of the north 100

497

i don't know much about the list but i have considered using them as ally in my elf glad army but not sure how many ally war bands you can take. i would drop the elves looking at the book as there too expensive and your packing not enough bods in Ur list.

also you need 2 more rangers of the north to support the 7 extra rangers in the elf hero war band as they don't count to Ur bow limit only Dunadan and rangers do and halbarad do.

The Dice Gods Hate Me!

1750 Dark Eldar

2000 Dark Angels (fallen)

ATM i got 2000 of Skaven working up to 2400

750 wood elf/Glad elf LOTR SBG

You need 1 dunadain or ranger of the north for every 4 models with bows over the normal bow limit 4 rangers of the north = an extra 16 bows. with 23 warriors the normal limit would be 8 + 16 I can have 24 models with bows excluding heros. Both my warbands are maxed out and swapping the elves for 2 captains of arnor would only leave me with 20 points. Alternatively I could replace the elves with arathorn and give halbarad the banner of arwen evenstar (a banner with 6" range.

This is incorrect. Creating a Grey Company army requires 1 Dunedain or Ranger of the North for every 4 Rangers of Arnor in the army list. Please refer to the Kingdoms of Men sourcebook page 36(Grey Company box).
So your list as stated is incorrect as you will need at least 2 additional Dunedain or RotN to allow the Ranges of Arnor you have. Halbarad and the Twins Do nto count as Dunedain or RotN. Additionally, neither do Aragorn, Arathorn or any other heros from the Arnor List. Only Dunedain and Rangers of the North count(Mind also that these models are SOLOs) meaning you will still need other heros to lead yoru warbands.

One additional point in your list, Dunedain do not cost what you allocated, unless you are taking spears which you did not indicate on the list. Rangers of the North however woudl have cost 100 for 4 without spears. It's my recommendation that if you have the spare points, always take RotN over Dunedain for the additional point in defense.

I'm not sure what to do with the spare 10 pts, thoughts?

Ol' Blighty

Minor threadomancy, but I'm also building a ranger-themed army.

I haven't played LotR in about three years, so I'm not the best guy for advice, but instead of Halbarad and Arathorn, I prefer Elladan and Elrohir- they have higher fight values, higher defence (if you run with heavy armour), more attacks (6 between them compared to 5), higher courage (again, 6 compared to 5), and more fate.
for all that, they're exactly the same amount of points, but without bows.
even then, you can give them elven bows for the left over 10 points you have.

If not, for my army's leftover points I've chosen a couple of warriors of arnor.
cowardly for men, but decent defence and spears as default, they make up the spare points in my army and can support my heroes.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid.
