Hi people I have a doubles tournament coming up and I need to make a 1000 point list for it to team up with another 1000 pt list, as of yet I am not sure about the specific rules for the teaming but I have heard it will not use the ally chart and 6th ally rules. Now i know that space marines are not the best army to team up with my crons but its what my team mate will be taking so that is that.

He hasn't got any flyers, I on the other hand have 5 so I am thinking of taking a mini scythe wing with warrior msu and stormteks. he has a fairly large marine collection so if you guys could think of any half decent combos that would be cool beans.

As for force org i would suspect it will be 1 force org each no allied detachment.#

I know you may have your list set in mind, but consider taking some Doomscythes. They Alpha strike, and can absolutely cripple an enemy army.

A Destroyer Lord with some Wratihs, will also be handy. They are quite the powerhouse unit, with a Dlord.

Now, I'm assuming he's running Vanilla Marines? If so, you should use his army to fill in the gaps in yours. If you're covering the Troops aspect, perhaps let him take on the firepower/assault aspect. Terminators are strong in 6th, perhaps a few of those in a Land Raider. Vanilla is a bit hard for choices, to tell you the truth.

Hi thanks for the input I agree that wraiths and a d lord is a devastating combo but a full unit and kitted out dlord will run at 400 points which is a lot at 1k points.

The list is just a first idea I'm not set on it or the theme, I am thinking of taking a doom scythe though.

And yes my ally will be taking vanilla marines.

1000 points is pretty limiting for Space Marines. I'm not a Space Marine player, but Necrons still have a weakness to dedicated close combat units. You should get your ally to gear mostly for close combat. You handle the shooting, he handles the melee, you guys should have most bases covered that way.

I would say drop the bottom 3 troop entrys & 2 HoS, use the points in Doom Scythes. You could also invest 90 points to get a Quad gun & a guy dedicated to manning it. (Lord SW WS)

He can combat squad heavy weapons onto Objectives, and spec weps into Razors for advancing, then you drop in your Warriors from scythes to get a pretty solid wall of troops on the march
