I'm still pretty new to actually playing 40k, so forgive the noobish question.

Say my boyz charge in and take 2 wounds during overwatch, then 3 wounds in combat and inflict 4 on the enemy. Are the wounds sustained during overwatch used when determining the combat's winner? In other words, did I lose combat by taking 5 wounds (with overwatch), or did I win by taking only 3 wounds?

I know the section on combat resolution says wounds taken in the assault subphase, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking another ruling elsewhere in the rulebook.

Thanks!

Overwatch wounds do not count toward combat resolution. Only wounds that occur in the fight subphase are counted.
