Well the tital says it all realy I was just wondering what the points value for the space marines arm in the aobr box set is if anyone has a copy of the army list and any advice for improving it ?

Mandragora, Eastern Fringe

It's roughly 750 points. Some of the upgrades are a little strange, mostly the captain. Your best bet would be to buy 2 rhinos and another tac squad. Get some THSS termies and a Landraider. Other than that, pretty much anything. There isn't a terrible unit in the codex.

Assuming codex:space marines then There are terrible units in the codex.

Buy razorbacks, then you can change the lids to play either rhinos or razorbacks.
Buy another tactical squad.
This will give you a legal army.

Then get a librarian as a cheap HQ which is better than the captain.

Now you will be in the position to bring some cooler stuff. There are plenty really awesome units choose which ones you like, bring a couple of squads/tanks of them then equip your troops to support them.
Currently I am loving vindicators and sternguard, if you want examples of awesome units that are available.

Have fun, just start playing so you can get a feel for your units.
