I'm wanting to start tk, but I have a few questions that need to be answered.
What is there play style?
Are they fun to play?
Are they expensive?
Are they easy to paint?
Are they beginner friendly? This will be my first fantasy army. (If I get them)
Anything else you wan't to add will be welcome. Please help a new player looking for some skelital awesomeness.

Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Biatches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.

Beginner friendly? No. They are one of the more expensive armies out there, and they're not easy to paint. But are they fun? Loads. Plus IMHO they have some of the best looking models in WHFB. Tomb Kings are a pretty fragile army, they have terrible armor, but they make up for it with sheer numbers and relatively powerful magic. Tomb Kings are generally more difficult to play, and, as such, usually appeal to sophisticated players. Why play Tomb Kings? Simple: sphinxes, armies of chariots, animated Anubis statues, and the Ark of the Covenant (yes, really). You get masses of cheap, Unbreakable infantry, backed up by hard hitting, tough-as-nails, Unbreakable animated constructs. In case it wasn't obvious, they have some pretty sweet models too. While the majority of the Tomb Kings army is pretty fragile, you can run giant hordes of them, and, being undead, they return to the battlefield every turn. Their racial lore, Nehekhara, has a lore attribute, Restless Dead, that resurrects 1d3+1 wounds worth of models every time an augment spell is cast on pretty much any unit in the army.

You might be more interested in ogres then. They are tough, and since they are expensive points wise, you don't have to buy that many of them.

OrkzCrazy wrote:din't like the way they look. What are lizardmen and dwarves like? Lizardmen are pretty nasty. They have good monsters, great skirmishers, and their basic infantry, the saurus, can chew up anything if used properly. Their cold blooded makes them extremely difficult to break. However, they also have terrible initiative; saurus have ini1, and temple guard have ini 2. Skinks are a bit better, with ini4, but they are also T2. What they lack in ranged combat they make up for with magic. I have lizardmen myself, actually. Can't tell you much about dwarves, other than they have the best siege weapons and guns in the game, and that their infantry are slow, both movement wise and initiative wise, but heavily armored with T4 across the board. Only S3 though.

Play style is a lot of ranged, with killing blow specials and monster backup from how a friend plays them. Good magic as well lends to evening out the army too. He often mixes in some chariots, impact hits are always good
Yes, my friend loves playing them, and anyone who has faced him has usually enjoyed the game unless they were really unlucky and lost bad. He hasn't lost yet.
Expensive? Can be yes, especially if you invest in the sphinx kits, BUT those kits keep on giving. As well as characters, seen the undead construct giant thing converted up (cant remember its name, does it show?) and a casket of souls done from it.
Easy to paint? Yes, stupidly so, they lend themselves to a very fast painting scheme IMO.
Beginner friendly? Not sure, personally I would tend towards like eldar in 40k perservere and learn, and you shall be rewarded, but mistakes can be very punishing. Check out http://z4.invisionfree.com/Khemri/index.php? for some hints and tips

They aren't that expensive. Get two battle boxes, a sphinx, and a priest. You'll have about 1500 - 2000 points. You'll have 6 chariots for a hammer unit, enough skeletons to make an anvil unit with your price our king, a unit or two of archers, a war sphinx, and a hierophant for magic support. The key for a successful TK army is to support your army with buffs. MWBD will make your unit survivable in hth, hold your chariots back for a counter attack, and the sphinx to be aggressive with. You'll have 16 horsemen too - before you glue the arms on, experiment with archers and heavy cav. Once you start to get a feel as to how the army plays, them start picking up your special and rare units - you want to shoot get a catapult, magic heavy get the hiero titan or casket, beat stick go with knights and guard, fast more knights and buzzards. This army is about synergies. They are very much like Eldar as nothing by itself is all powerful but the sum of their parts are greater than the whole.
