This is for a local walker contest. Thoughts suggestions welcome.

Hrmh...

It needs an Ewok somewhere!

But no, really. It looks great. The only complaint I would put forward is that it blends a little too well with the base and spotter. If it were my project, I would remove the spotter and replace that area with some undergrowth. Maybe a bit of wreckage or more footprints as well.

Presentation is key for contests, and outside of the minor complaint I have? It presents itself pretty dang well!

I like it. I agree with Kanlumen that it lacks a bit of contrast, but it's very well painted. Personally I would have taken the time to remove the mold lines on the legs, but too late now! Your washes and other weathering are very natural looking.

You can console yourself with the fact that they are probably re-painted in theatre by guardsmen, so that's probably a pretty accurate job you're doing!!

I tend to be very critical of painting and so I don't usually get to say this but, nice work.

Thanks guys. I am horrible about mold lines. I seem to never notice them until I start to paint. I really hate building models, I guess I need to take more time.

To be honest, I did not notice the mold lines until they were pointed out.

I have the same problem. It's why I've started applying a really, really, really, really light black wash to the models before I assemble them. It gives a bit of definition and lets you see where the moldlines are a bit better.

I agree the spotter does draw attention away to the actual walker maybe if you want to do something related to guard maybe a helmet with a bullet hole through it on the ground... just a thought

On the Ewok side, maybe an Ewok standing on the top swinging a wrench and hammer

Ewoks, furry Grots, Gaunts, whatever you can think of which could be used to make it look like the Sentinel is scouting an alien world.

Add a bit of drama to it!

Don't sweat the mold lines, the factory would only grind and polish the parts necessary and let the rest go (ever seen a war-time tank close up?). You do have to take a bit of care with figures though!
